Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region

We were there for 3 hours. Took a family member to get glasses and the way the staff handled being in the waiting room to being in the appt was disorganized. While in the waiting room, we sat there for 1 hour and half past our appt time. Mentioned to the receptionist that we had been waiting a hour and she had said based on her computer screen we were already back in the room. Once we were finally in a room, no one had checked on us for 40 mins. After the time had passed , they came in to see how the testing went when we had no tests done. They had confused us with another patient that had been helped a hour before. We know that, because the other patients tests where in my family members chart. After nurses come in to correct the mistake, they did minimal tests. Then we were told to go to another room to see a doctor that we were not scheduled with because everyone went home. The doctor that came in was under the impression that my family member needs surgery. We clarified that no surgery is in our interest and we just need glasses. The doctor then gave us a new Prescription but since everybody went home we could not get the glasses made. We then checked out and the receptionist asked us when we would like to schedule surgery. After much frustration, we left. No glasses. 3 hours later.

Stay away from this place! Called to inquire about a standard eye exam. I told the woman that answered the phone that I had no vision insurance. She said that the exam would cost $90. I said that was fine & made appointment for 10/10/2025. Went to the appointment, had the standard eye exam. I paid my $90 while I was there. On 11/3 I received a bill for the $90 charge. I immediately called their billing department and explained that I had paid the $90 while I was there and I had a receipt. The person I spoke to said yes could see the payment. I then explained to that on the same day I received a statement from my insurance that their office tried to submit $166 charge to my insurance. Of course my health insurance denied it because again I don't have vision coverage. I also explained that when I called to make the appointment I was told that the standard eye exam without insurance cost $90. I said I don't understand what this extra $166 is for. Person didn't know but said sometimes their office mistakenly submits to insurance and it was just an oversight and not to worry about it. Fast forward to 12/9/25. I received another bill in the mail from the doctor's office for $166. Apparently I had paid a $25 copay another time I was there for a glaucoma test that I didn't have to so they deducted that from the $166 and sent me a bill for $141. I immediately called them the next day. Their billing department told me that they called me on 10/6 about vision insurance and I told them I had it and to submit it and I agreed to be responsible for any other out of pocket expenses. I definitely did not say that; I told them I did not have vision insurance. When I went to my appointment on 10/10 at no time while I was there did anybody say there was going to be another $166 charge. I would have never agreed to have an eye exam for $256. I am retired and on a fixed income. I can never recommend this place to anyone.

The nursing staff was wonderful and very helpful. Dr. Harrow on the other hand, was very rude and unpleasant. He spoke in the hallway to the nursing staff about other patients and downplaying their symptoms because his schedule was booked with urgents. I waited 2hrs in order to get roomed which I knew was going to be a long wait due to other reviews. Dr. Harrow came into the room and left within less than 2 minutes while also downplaying my new and worsening symptoms by saying "that's it?". He mentioned he was going to prescribe me with eye drops but never stated what for, when to take it, or etc.

Very bad experience. I went in asking for a copy of my prescription and was met by a very rude woman who had an attitude and showed no respect. The lady in the glasses area was especially unhelpful

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Stasior here. I waited almost an hour past my scheduled appointment time, only to be rushed through a five-minute consultation. The doctor came across as dismissive and arrogant throughout the visit. Every time I asked a question, he made me feel like I was wasting his time or asking something ridiculous. I left the office feeling unheard and disrespected. I would not recommend this practice/doctor to anyone looking for a compassionate or attentive healthcare provider.

Dr. Stasior has been my ophthalmologist for 30 years and I have followed him from his own practice to Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region. He is brilliant in his field and so very modest. The most gentle of bedside manner and speaks to patients in a way they can understand. Highly recommend.

Been seeing Dr. Rabady for two years or more, took me during Covid and I am very pleased with the way he's taking care of me. Recommend him to anybody.

Either take a life time of eye injections or you are considered a medical liability and dropped from the practice. Warning, warning, warning! Then consider that insurance may not pay for the eye injections and you get a large bill!!! This appears to be very common talk of the town. Beware of Dr. Feldman!!!
