Perlmutter Eye Center - Customized Cataract Surgery, Glaucoma, Retina Specialist Care

Amazing,caring,fast staff at the front desk. Great assistants that are very professional but also have a sense of humor even when the day is chaotic and challenging. Doc knows a few things, seems like he has many(many)years experience. I love that he's all business but also not trying to sell things or prescribe unnecessary stuff. This practice is great and I appreciate being treated like a human,by a human. I encourage everyone to go there. In and out with ZERO issues.

The people at Permutter Eye care have worked hard to make sure I don't have to wait around to be seen. They have already improved my eyesight through their efforts using the Latham Surgical center or other ancillary entities to get my cataracts corrected. I've been able to ask questions when I needed and cannot say enough for an important aspect of my life such as my site. I had cataract removal and toric lens placement yesterday and was out of there in 2 hours. Scheduler Dianna, the techs behind the scenes at Latham Surgical all need to be acknowledged for letting these eye specialist practice their craft smoothly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Zonderman for several years, and he is truly an outstanding eye doctor. He is extremely knowledgeable in his field, always friendly, and never seems to be in a bad mood no matter how long his day has been. Both my husband and I see him, and we always feel we receive excellent, thorough care. He listens, he explains, and he treats his patients with compassion and respect. However, I do feel the office operations could be improved. Each year, the parking lot seems more and more overwhelmed, and this year every single space was filled. When I walked inside, there were around 12 to 15 people in the waiting room. My appointment was at 3:00 p.m., and I did not get taken back to see the doctor until 4:00 p.m. I'm retired and move at a slower pace, and I usually don't let little delays bother me, but a full hour waiting to even get into an exam room is unacceptable for any patient. There was also only one receptionist working, and she was responsible for checking patients in, and also out at the same time. I walk with a walker, and cannot stand for long periods of time, but I found myself stuck in a line with people ahead of me and behind me, afraid to step out to go sit down in a chair in the waiting area because I did not want to lose my place in line. The quality of care from Dr. Zonderman is excellent, but the volume of patients scheduled at once makes the experience stressful. It begins to feel like "quantity" is prioritized over "quality", and that's disappointing when everything else about the doctor is top-notch. I truly hope the office will address these issues, because Dr. Zonderman is a wonderful eye doctor and I want to continue receiving care at the Perlmutter Eye Center. A few adjustments to scheduling and staffing would make a world of difference.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a physicians office. I was not seen by anyone until an hour and 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. When I checked in with reception they told me they were backed up because it was the first day back from vacation. That shouldn't have been a factor, it seemed like there were just too many patients scheduled for the day. When I was finally seen by Dr. Perlmutter, he took a personal phone call during my appointment, was extremely impersonal and left my eyes dripping after giving me eye drops to dilate my eyes. I had to ask for tissues as I was being taken to the next room for pictures. Exam, pictures and follow up took all of 30 minutes, but I spent a total of 2 hours there. It was so late when I was finally done that reception had left. He told me to call back in the morning to schedule a follow up appointment for a year. No way will I ever step foot in that office again. If you value your time, do not visit this office.

Dr. Perlmutter is a fantastic doctor. He has taken care of my cataracts, and also treats my diabetic retinopathy. I can see much better now thanks to him. The wait time in his office is improving. His staff is polite and efficient. Highly recommend them for any type of eye care.

Dr. David Perlmutter sees me for my eye health visits and recently did my cataract surgery. I am very pleased with the outcome, all went well with surgery and all choices were thoroughly discussed. His staff is helpful and efficient in this very busy office. I'm grateful for their care.

I was very satisfied with the service I got. Adreona was friendly and professional. I have always had trouble finding glasses due to I have a small face and finding a good fit is hard. Adreona took the time to help me find glasses that fit my needs. She answered all my questions and is very knowledgeable. I had a good experience and would be happy to go back.

My first time there, I was send by an urgent care doctor due to excruciating pain in my right eye. Due to my new insurance I didn't know I had to pay. Unfortunately I didn't have any form of payment to make didn't know I had to pay. I ask the l receptionist if she can bill me she told me straight NO I traveled a hour or more to make this appointment to be denied services. I was better off going to Clifton Park where they told me I should have went there instead. Thanks for your help. I will never go back and never Recommend this place to no one.
