The staff here are amazing! The perfect combination of professionalism and comfortability. Yvette was such a joy! Walked in specifically wanting Gucci frames, left ordering a second pair because the staff was so great. This is my new place for my optical needs for sure.
Got my license done here for 6 years and they actually except blue cross/medicaid, I was having a hard time putting in my contact lenses and everyone was so helpful and patient with me until I figured it out the next day. Wouldn't go anywhere else
I will be BACK! Love it here! Not only are they really helpful and swift but super accommodating! I never had such a great experience getting glasses. And everyone was so kind! If you get Cindy you're super lucky, she knows her stuff and I take my time yet she didn't mind one bit. THE BEST! Not to mention Evelyn and Tiara, just overall wonderful staff, good service, and a lot of glasses options.
I had a great experience today. I was taken care of by Luis. I needed to order new frames asap. I spoke to Luis via telephone and he told me to come right in. It was quite busy but the staff were so polite and I was still serviced in a timely manner. Luis was very helpful, informative and professional. Although it was busy, I did not feel rushed. He is an asset to your company. Thank you.
So far so good! I used to work in an optical clinic and needed to find a new glasses home. I'll be a new patient, and instead of doing the application online, I called into the store.
Luis answered and helped me through the whole process, from setting up my profile, answering my many questions, to even checking my insurance coverage!
I will update my review after my visit.
I originally came in for glasses and contact lenses, but the prescription provided by their ophthalmologist was clearly incorrect my vision was blurry and the lenses did not fit properly. I returned to have the prescription rechecked, and the same issue occurred again.
After that, it became nearly impossible to get a follow-up appointment or any real assistance. Every time I call, I'm told to "leave my number and the manager will call you." The manager has never called.
On top of that, there have been multiple instances of poor customer service, including staff confusing my name, hanging up mid-call, and not following through on promises even when I'm polite and simply asking for help.
Getting a correct prescription should not be this difficult or stressful. At this point, I've lost trust in their professionalism and accountability, and I would not recommend this location to anyone who expects follow-through or proper care.
I have lived in this area for 30 years, and I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had at the Parkchester location. A misunderstanding occurred due to staff, yet instead of assisting me, the manager made me feel as if I was being dishonest. She even asked to see my call log to try and determine the duration of the call to prove that no appointment was made -- implying that I was lying. Her tone, attitude, and overall approach were completely unprofessional and unacceptable for someone in a management role.
There was also a staff member at the front desk whose attitude and communication were inappropriate and disrespectful. As the first point of patient contact, individuals in that position should represent the organization with courtesy and professionalism. If employees cannot provide a welcoming interaction, they should not be the face of the facility.
On a positive note, another young employee apologized sincerely and attempted to help me. That level of integrity is what this location needs more of.
After leaving upset and without any resolution, I went to the Throgs Neck location the exact same day. Sharon, the manager, and her team were incredibly professional, helpful, and respectful. Even though my appointment "did not exist," they accommodated me immediately and I left with my contacts. This proves that the issue could have been resolved at Parkchester without treating me poorly or questioning my honesty.
It is truly disheartening that two locations within the same organization can provide such drastically different experiences. I took time off work to attend this appointment and should never have been made to feel disrespected. I will never return to the Parkchester location, and neither will my family, friends, or colleagues. I strongly recommend a full review of customer service practices, staff conduct, and management leadership at this site.
I had a very disappointing experience at this office. From the moment I walked in, I was not greeted or acknowledged, even though other customers were. I stood at the counter for several minutes before having to speak up myself.
My visit was delayed due to a breakdown in internal coordination. I provided my documentation directly to the doctor, who reviewed it and passed the information to the front desk. Despite this, I waited over 30 minutes as the only customer in the office with no updates. No one informed me that additional documentation was needed until I spoke up for myself, at which point it became clear that my chart had not been properly handled.
During this time, I overheard the doctor speaking loudly and dismissively about me to staff, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable.
When it came time to look at frames covered by my insurance, they were presented in a large plastic junk bin, while higher priced frames were displayed neatly on the walls and in cases. This felt unnecessary and disrespectful. Other offices manage to present insurance covered options in a professional way, and this one did not.
Two members of the staff were courteous, but that did not outweigh the overall lack of professionalism, rudeness, and poor communication.
I would not would not recommend this office.
