Unprofessional and unethical, a waste of time. They refused to give you your prescription until they claim your insurance covers your exam! although upon making your appointment they confirm your insurance information! They wouldn't schedule you if they thought the insurance wouldn't pay for the exam in the first place.

Had an appointment at 1:15 pm. Proceeded to wait until 3 pm for the initial pre screen exam. I did not stay and left at 3:12 pm. Everyone was in and out, and they seemingly forgot about me. I will not be coming back to an establishment that does not respect my time. Update: They called around 3:52 pm.... to let me know the doctor can see me. There was no line for exams. Be sure to come to your appointments at least 3 hours late. The paperwork that I did in office took about 2 minutes. And it was all sign dotted line forms so I cant see how that would extend my stay to nearly 3 hours of waiting.

This place is..interesting. I found out about this place through my insurance (EyeMed) and made an appointment. Granted. Exam went fine until I start getting prices for the prescription..$800?? and my insurance apparently couldn't cover that because my prescription is high. The initial plan was to bring my own new designer frames from (said shop) to them so they can just put the prescription in. After this breakdown I said I would be back. I go to (said shop) to pick up my frames which offered me a MUCH BETTER price for the lenses with everything and more included so I just decided to get it from them instead. So by this point I just need my prescription. I call back and let them know that I'll be purchasing my lenses from (said shop) so the worker who was sweet the entire time transfers me to the supervisor which tells me "I don't know what they're giving you, we have the best lense quality here" and "We can offer you more affordable options. Which I think was very inappropriate. Do not try to convince me or try to downplay another company. I can go wherever the hell I want to go. Then tells me she's gonna make a claim with my insurance and that I can get my prescription in 5-7 days. One of the workers at (said shop) then calls them back and asks for the prescription once more because that didn't make sense to her. They said they would fax it over right then and there, THEN said Monday. I call Monday THEN they say Friday. I called yesterday and the worker by the name David ( i think) who was very sweet as well asked how I would like it sent, I told him by email and it was sent a few minutes later. All this to say, don't give in to these outrageous prices these optical places give you and don't get into debt trying to pay it off. There's ALWAYS a better option. I also recommend getting those eye exams at the same place you're going to buy your glasses at because when you try to get those lenses elsewhere they get in their feelings. Won't be back

I have to say I've been a customer for some years now I've never had a bad experience with Urban Eyes Optical . Last week I went there to get an eye exam for contacts. They are doing things a little different from what I remembered , however I was completely impressed at how extensive the eye exam was. I had never had an eye exam like this I've been wearing glasses since I was 7 years old!!!! I would be doing this review an injustice if I didn't mention David the young man who helped me through the process of registering online with them and the paperwork involved with the co- pays and sorting out my payment options. He also assisted me in picking out a new pair of designer frames and a pair of really nice sunglasses by DITA . Overall DAVID , KARLA , GIANNA , and GLENDA provided a VIP EXPERIENCE for me !!!!! So much so I'm bringing my family members to them as well . By the way I went there for contact lenses and ended up buying a pair of designer prescription glasses , contact lenses and a pair of designer shades and I'm totally happy with my purchases and my VIP EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. THERES PLENTY OF PARKING A MAJOR PLUS !!!!!!!!

Lisette was so helpful with me purchasing my glasses and explaining the payment plans. She really took her time to teach me especially since i'm young & transitioning into becoming an adult. Gianna was very sweet and helpful with my eye exam. She mad me comfortable. Dr. Julie helped me with my eye exam as well. She took her time to explain things regarding my eyes. Flor was helpful as well she was watchful and attentive ready to help me as well. I'm very appreciative of the staff overall they were all very kind & patient with me.

Very nice staff clean welcoming environment. They very helpful warm and accommodating. I appreciate having the them in this neighborhood. It is a touch of class, professionalism, and warmth. I highly recommend them. Carla is a fashionista but more than just a great style she is warm and kind. Her team are a dream. David helped me get my contacts and worked with both my needs and budget, with the support of Carla. The young lady who examines your eyes before doctor is also warm too. The doctor is great also... I rate it 10 out of 10

Recently I purchased a pair of Designer Frame Eyeglasses at 1955 Turnbull Ave in the Bronx. I would like to acknowledge the excellent customer service I received from the sale's assistant name Flor C. This lady was incredibly honest when she sold me the eyeglasses. I was so impressed with Flor C's honesty I decided to write about it to let the people know that you could purchase affordable high quality eyeglasses at there store.
