Brooklyn Vision Therapy

I've tried so many different therapies to help with my post-concussion syndrome. Dr. Bakhru was easily the most helpful. She's extremely knowledgeable and was able to give me a precise, yet flexible therapy plan that helped me with my symptoms and got me back to work in front of a screen again. She understands the science of concussions and the brain's vision system comprehensively. Beyond her medical and therapeutic expertise, she also brings a kindness and sense of warmth to every session that makes therapy a genuinely enjoyable experience. Could not recommend it more to anyone suffering in the aftermath of a concussion or if you have any vision problems at all.

Dr. Bakhru is amazing! I completed 6 months of vision therapy with her, and the entire process was excellent. She is unbelievably patient and always took the time to help me understand what was happening with my vision and why. Her positive attitude made appointments enjoyable and motivating. I also appreciated her extremely thorough documentation of my baseline and final assessments, as well as emails after each session explaining in detail how to perform the assigned exercises. She helped me to achieve significant improvements in my vision. I highly recommend Dr. Bakhru!

Dr. Bakhru is an amazingly patient and caring person. She sees my 8 year old child. Excellent bedside manners. She seems personally invested in her patients' progress. Only been in vision therapy for 2 + months now, but already see gains.

I want to say a huge thank you to Dr. Bakhru for helping me during one of the worst periods of my life. Back in November, I suffered a concussion that gave me severe lasting visual issues (PCS). For many months I could barely look at a screen, and had to give up my intense corporate internship. My fear further intensified because I was due to start my full time job that involved me looking at screens for hours on end. So in May I reached out and started vision therapy with Dr. Bakhru. Over the course of a few months, she guided me through a bunch of exercises to work on and improve my eyes. I am happy to say that now, after those few months, I am pretty much back to normal. Thanks to her, I'm starting my full time corporate job, which involves a lot of screen time, this week. Without her help, I honestly don't think that would have been the case. Thank you so much Doctor!!

Dr. Bakhru is the best optometrist/vision therapist in NYC hands down. She is not only super knowledgeable and caring, but she always makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. I have seen first hand how much of a difference she makes in people's lives through vision therapy and it's incredible! I always receive the most comprehensive eye exams and she never fails to to address any concerns I may have. Dr. Bakhru is always be my go to eye doctor in New York.

I cannot recommend Dr. Bakhru highly enough. I completed a course of vision therapy with Dr. Bakhru because I was having double vision due to a focusing issue with my eyes. Dr. Bakhru is extremely knowledgeable in her area of vision therapy and neuro-rehabilitation. Dr. Bakhru was always kind, patient and explained everything thoroughly to me so I understood why we were doing the exercises we were. After vision therapy with Dr. Bakhru my symptoms have completely resolved. I am now much more comfortable with both of my eyes working together instead of having to close an eye to try to keep working when I was experiencing double vision. This has made a huge difference in my day to day functioning. I am very thankful for all that Dr. Bakhru did for me, and would encourage anyone experiencing trouble with their visual system to be evaluated by her. Vision therapy was essential in helping alleviate my symptoms, and Dr. Bakhru's knowledge tailored my course of treatment based on my progress each week. Thank you Dr. Bakhru!!

Dr. Bakhru is absolutely amazing! I'm usually panicked about eye exams, but she's really calming and helpful. She'll help you weigh your options and figure out what's best for you. Definitely my permanent eye doctor, would totally recommend!

If you are considering vision therapy for yourself or a loved one, I cannot recommend Dr. Bakhru enough. Not only does she have a great professional (and empathetic) bedside manner but after my evaluation she took the time to explain everything in a way that I could actually understand. As far as the vision therapy itself, it has changed my life so much for the better. Before VT I had no idea just how much my vision/post concussion issues were negatively impacting me and thanks to Dr. Bakhru I can talk about those things in the past tense.
