Dr. Arnold J. Stein, MD

The intake staff were great, but my experience with the doctor was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. I came for a contact lens prescription. He shamed me for wearing contacts (mind you, he wasn't wearing glasses himself). When I explained that glasses make me disoriented, especially on stairs (I work in schools and regularly walk classes between floors), he acted like it didn't matter or he didn't believe me. I have chronic dry eyes and asked to renew a preservative-free eye drop prescription that my previous doctor required and that my insurance had already approved. I had been using these drops daily for a year and simply needed a renewal. He refused and told me to buy lower-quality drops on my own, despite there being no medical or financial reason to deny the covered option. I don't understand why it mattered to him?!?! Eye drops are expensive, and this refusal felt unnecessary and careless toward patient needs. To make matters worse, he then said, "You're here, may as well do an annual exam," and dilated my eyes without asking for consent or warning me about the effects. I did not come in for an annual exam and I don't like that he saw the opportunity to add this and bill me (my insurance) for this , especially since there were still patients waiting in his office to see him. He never asked if I had to drive, work, or had responsibilities afterward AND I DID. My vision was impaired for nearly three hours. I work after school with kids at home and I arrived to my student extremely late and disoriented because I could not see clearly. I had to apologize to a parent. Thankfully they were able to stay in the room with me during my session with their child since I couldn't fully manage with blurred vision and it would be a safety concern for the kid.

I've been through the years to a lot of eye doctors and Dr Stein I have to say is one of the best can the staff is just as good

Helpful.and courteous staff. Dr Stein really helped me out. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, and kind. I would highly recommend!

Dr Stein is amazing. He is bright, caring, and very diligent. I had a real problems with an infection. He explained every detail and made me feel safe. I knew I picked the best doctor to treat me. He is great.

The front desk is always so nice and helpful. Dr Stein is a very smart man that works diligently, carefully, and fast. Only issue is the wait times for getting into his office since he is only one doctor, but if you care about quality of care over speed this is the place to go. Thank you Dr Stein and thank you to your wonderful workers!

First i want say big thank you to the front desk ladies who helped me schedule urgent same day appointment for my 8 years old son. A few doctors including pediatrician was unable to tell us why my son had redness in aye ball , Dr Stein was able to find right away, there was aye lash growing inside and touching aye ball which cause redness on aye ball. He was quickly able to remove with no pain and very next day problem was gone. Thank you Dr!

Dr Stein is a true professional who is extremely kind and compassionate. In addition he has a wonderful staff who are efficient and organized.

Saw Dr. Stein as a first-time patient since my previous ophthalmologist had retired. First-rate doctor and first-rate office staff. Dr. Stein gives a thorough examination and explains all pertinent issues. Comforting to have him as my new ophthalmologist.
