Dr. Desmond Parkin

Had a great experience at Dr. Parkin's office for my annual-ish eye exam earlier this year. And when I lost a copy of my prescription and emailed them to ask for a new copy, they responded the same day. Very lucky to have them in the neighborhood.

Received an annual eye exam from Dr. Parkin and had the best experience. He was so kind and it was the first time a doctor explained why we're doing each step of the exam. The office is located in the ground level of a walk up, felt very homey. Highly recommend!

They were committing Medicaid fraud and then they no longer accepted Medicaid . When I started visiting this office in 2017, I saw Dr Parkin and he and all the stuff were helpful in explaining prescriptions and getting me glasses and contacts. I haven't seen Dr Parkin since, it's always been someone else my last two visits. That wouldn't bother me except for this last visit it felt as if no one wanted to help me. I went 2 months ago, because I need a new contacts and glasses. They told me my prescription hadn't changed, but it had. They just said oh we'll have to see with your insurance if you can get contacts or glasses and then didn't ever call me. Until 2 weeks ago I called them and they never called me back and now today I called finally someone called me back. It was the office manager, Evelyn, who addressed my by the wrong name both times she called, and told me they now no longer except my insurance as of two days ago. I was never informed that they would be dropping my insurance. When I asked about getting glasses, which I had told them I needed at the appointment, because it's been over two years, they told me that I would have to go somewhere else. I asked why they hadn't tried to help me get glasses when I visited before. The office manager, Evelyn, angot upsetd threatened to not order my contacts in a couple months when they finally get the money from my insurance. I asked to speak to doctor Parkin and she told me he's on vacation. I asked to leave a message for him and she said he will never call you back. My experience with this office in the last couple months has been that they are unhelpful, lack accountability, and Dr Parkin is nowhere to be found. I would have been fine with going somewhere else if they had just told me they didn't want to help. Update: they have now completely refused me service. I was left a voice message from Evelyn the office manager saying thank you for the nice review... Yo can go elsewhere, we're voided the request for your contacts It's a shame that Dr Parkin's office missed the opportunity to improve its service.

Dr. Parkin and all of the employees at this facility were delightful. Dr. Parkin was extremely punctual and took his time to explain things to me in detail. He answered all of my questions and was very kind. The person at the front desk helped me pick out the perfect frames and helped me sort through many frames before coming to a conclusion. She was very receptive and honest and she listened to all of my needs. I'm happy that I came here!

Dr. Parkin was incredibly friendly, prompt, and best of all thorough in his examination. He explained what he was doing and looking for as we went through the tests. The rest of the staff is also incredibly warm and welcoming too!

Had my 1st eye exam in years & Dr. Parkin's office is so wonderful! From booking the appt to the end of the exam, it was a pleasant and stress-free experience. The office staff are so kind and helpful, and Dr. Parkin explained everything so thoroughly that I could understand and walk out that door with no worries. Highly recommend!

Dr. Parkin and his staff helped me manage through the pain of a scratched cornea. It happened during a bike ride and I called them the next morning and they immediately fit me into their schedule even though I was not one of their current patients. I am so grateful for Dr. Parkin's gentle care and the thoughtful team.

I've seen Dr. Parkin for over 10 years now. The team is warm, friendly, super helpful always going the extra mile, and they know their stuff. I have an extremely tough prescription the team always handled my messed up vision with precision, professionalism, and extreme care. Highly recommend.
