New review: The owner reached out to me to explain the situation which was a systems glitch. I will be taking my business elsewhere but felt adequately serviced despite the issue. This place is a small owned business so don't want to be overly critical. Original review: I scheduled an annual vision exam at Heights Vision. I sent an email to confirm my appointment and was notified last minute (less than a week before my appointment) that my appointment was cancelled without an explanation or offering alternatives times. The email was sent outside of business hours. The practice cc'd me and three other patients on the same email to confirm appointment times which felt very unprofessional.

I've been going to Heights Vision for at least a decade for my exams, frames, and lenses. They always go above and beyond. And always have a great selection of frames. I couldn't be happier.

Update: Though the experience described in my original review was frustrating, the owner of this business reached out, was willing to have a conversation and listen to my concerns, and has even implemented some system updates to address. Additionally, the business felt that the date that I went in and had the experience, was a particularly challenging day for them due to a number of circumstances. I felt heard enough to go in and have another appointment to order new frames and lenses. I have yet to pick these up, but I anticipate that visit will go smoothly with the changes. This local business has top notch doctors and opticians, and offers only high quality frames. Have updated to 5 stars. Original review: Though I have a mixed experience here, the opticians and the doctors are nice, service-oriented, and know their stuff. When Heights Vision first reopened at their current Clinton St location the service here was fantastic, booking exams online was easy, and because it was still during the pandemic, the experience in store was doable even in a small space. However, post pandemic the business appears to be doing almost too well. Eye exams are booking out about 2 months, and the in store experience can be trying. The check in receptionists are helpful with getting insurance forms ready, however if there is any 'traffic jam' in the optical area, they are absolutely no help at all. If both opticians are helping other customers, one is just told to wait until they are 'free' - however there is no number system, nor are you 'expedited' if you are doing something that takes a shorter amount of time, such as picking up glasses. Once you check in with them, you are on your own to fight your way in to be helped. The same two opticians are the only ones who can help with anything eyeglass related. The receptionists will tell you that you are free to browse the frames, however, this isn't as helpful as in other stores because all of the frames are locked down, and the store layout means that customers who are currently being helped block at lesat 50% of the frame displays. Today I went in to do 2 things - pick up glasses I had ordered that were ready, and I try on some frames for a new eyeglass order. However, after waiting over 40 minutes because one customer had what sounded like a complicated insurance situation, while the other was trying on frames repeatedly and walking around to mirrors endlessly to look at herself --- by the time I was helped, I had no time to try on frames and now intend to purchase my glasses elsewhere as I don't want to go through this irritation again. Perhaps appointment times for the opticians are now needed.

Love Heights Vision! I've seen Dr. Patel and Dr. Nguyen for years. They are always so warm, thorough, comprehensive, and thoughtful. Liem and Alexis up front are also amazing if you need glasses!

Heights Vision is the best. The space is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful! I was late for my appointment and they were so gracious even after getting me in at the last minute! I love Dr Nguyen but this time I saw Dr Patel. She was so amazing at explaining what I was experiencing and helping me understand what the next steps are. 10 out of 10!

I have been going to Heights Vision since 1995, right after moving to NYC. I was concerned after many years, a change in ownership would change the level of service provided. But thankfully its only gotten stronger. The technicians still go above and beyond, with personal customer service that you rarely see these days. I got my glasses quicker then expected and plan benefits were highlighted when weighing options.

The office is very clean and in a good location. Everyone was very friendly. My husband went in to fix his broken glasses. The optician did it right away and was able to have them looking like new again.
