I felt a bit rushed asking questions while choosing my glasses with the girls behind the counter as they seemed somewhat uncaring and always in a hurry. The remainder of the office including the Doctor were very thorough and the entire staff behaved very professionally with the young lady in the back office also being helpful.
They are unusually busy for such a small store which I credit to their reasonable prices. They are probably the best place overall to purchase glasses in Bay Ridge.
You don't need an appointment for an eye exam and the lead time to prepare non coated glasses is minimal.
Hello , I have been trying to get ahold of someone for 3 days, I live far, and no one is answering the phone. What is the correct number? I really don't wanna travel all the way there just to order contacts. It's not right, it takes 3 minutes. Can someone give me the correct number or answer the phone !!!
Received solid professional service today as a walk-in client. Reception is no frills and quite analog, but very decent. Exam was professional and reliable. Have been a client for about twelve years now.
Beats the competition easily.
Would highly recommend this place, the Doctor is great, the staff are friendly and HONEST.
They don't over charge you just because the insurance is paying and you end up paying out of pocket.
BIANCA is a great person to work with, and super friendly, gives you the time you need and the attention you deserve.
I would come back here every time I need to get new glasses and get an eye exam.
I have also been here before and the Doctor told me once, you can come back for "this" issue, even if you're insurance isn't going to cover it, I will not charge you.
I regret not knowing about this store before, and I hate that I have given my business in the past to other stores.
After looking at these reviews it explains a lot. I most definitely won't be coming back unless it's for my prescription although it seems it'll be a hassle to get that as well. To begin with I've been a customer here for years now and I always thought the lady with tan skin and wavy/curly hair is somewhat dismissive and rude but I chose to give them another chance because I thought perhaps she's just had a rough day or something but it seems that was not the case. First off , I had ordered a three month supply of monthly contact lenses with this same lady and once I picked them up she told me "no you ordered biweekly's" however, I know that was not the case but I chose not to argue with her anyways. Then I went back to pick out new frames and asked the other woman with glasses and a lighter complexion if she could just confirm with my insurance if it'd be covered that month , I knew my insurance covers glasses every other year but I wasn't sure if that was the exact month it corresponded to and she called for me. As she was calling to check the other lady with curls decided to but in and say "no you got glasses last year it won't cover them this year", although I knew this was false because the last time I had chosen glasses was slightly before my trip to Mexico two years ago but again I chose not to argue with her and left. What bothered me was that they didn't proceed to actually confirm and instead lied to my face and said insurance had told them no. I ended up getting glasses elsewhere and they were in fact covered by my insurance, which demonstrates that they chose to lie to my face which is just unbelievably unprofessional. Afterwards, I had stopped by on a Saturday morning to order a new set of contact lenses with the lighter complexion. The following Tuesday I received a call from the darker complexion women and she asked me " did you want the biweekly's?" I proceeded to say "no for the second time I asked for the monthly contacts , last time I asked for them you gave me the biweekly's" to which she replied "yea well those are more expensive I'm gonna tell you how much that'll cost" and immediately put me on hold before I could tell her I didn't mind the price I simply wanted what I had asked for 4 days ago, why were they calling me four days after I placed the order to ask what I wanted? I hung up by accident while on hold so I called back twice to tell her I was no longer interested in purchasing anything from here being that I've had multiple issues here already and no one picked up the phone, weeks later they called me to say my order was ready and I had felt bad if I didn't pick them up so I picked them up just now but if I'm not mistaken they gave me biweekly's yet again. I'm beginning to think she's doing it on purpose because it's not that hard to simply take an order to repurchase contacts. Ive chosen this place over and over because it's the nearest one to me but after my experience and seeing the reviews they have I've noticed they simply don't give good customer service , their dishonest, rude, and dismissive. Theirs many optical stores in bay ridge, THERE ARE OPTIONS. I wouldn't come here unless I was looking to be rudely dismissed.
Terrible service. He billed and collected over $350 from insurance for my father's glasses and gave him a terrible quality THICK lens that is not worth a penny & a frame that costs him maybe $5?
What's going on at Oasis?? Service was not this poor and seems like the end is near! Will not be coming back and making sure my friends and family are aware to STAY AWAY!
The latinia lady who works there has a very bad manner. At first, she started speaking Spanish to me. I explained that I don't speak Spanish. I have two types of insurance. When I showed her the first one, she said that it doesn't cover glasses. I left the store and remembered that I have another insurance. When I got angry, she said, "Is this your card?" She suspected that it wasn't mine. I showed her my card and she confirmed it. Her manner is poor. As for the doctor, he is kind and his treatment is professional. I thank him for all his efforts. He is the bright spot in this store.
