We asked to see a few glasses styles, and when the staff member finally assisted us, we tried one pair on, handed it back, and politely asked to see another. She then turned away and completely ignored us.
The behavior was extremely unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome. Based on this experience, we will not be purchasing glasses here. Disappointing customer service.
Unfortunately I have had consistently negative experiences with customer service both in person and on the phone over the past year. I really liked the doctor and they take my insurance but I won't be returning because of how the front desk representative interacts with customers.
I've spent thousands of dollars with this company between myself, my husband, and my son, yet when I needed my frames replaced to put my existing lenses in, they still charged me--despite my long history as a loyal customer. Their prices are high, and their customer service is disappointing.
Thankfully, I found DC Optics on Myrtle Avenue, and I can't recommend them enough! Before I even became a paying customer, they replaced my frames for free. They are incredibly kind, accommodating, and truly prioritize customer satisfaction. I highly recommend switching to DC Optics for a far better experience!
A few years ago, Optical Gallery was good. For the past 2 or so years the business has had a nose dive for customer service and product quality. The front desk, particularly one rep, is painfully next-level rude. Not like she won't smile and refuses to express any sense of helpful/friendliness -- it's as if she actively wishes customers would leave and is doing her best to drive them away. Well, it has worked! Farewell forever, Optical Gallery. Sorry I ever spent money there. Avoid this place.
I've seen Dr. Aya Egger, OD since 2019 & appreciate all the information she provides during my eye exam. She is very knowledgeable and answers any and all questions. I didn't know people paid to have my naturally occurring monovision. I ordered my first pair of glasses in December 2021 after my exam and they were ready a few days later (needed for distance). They will take some getting used to but they are cute (red). I didn't have time to have my eyes dilated last week so went back today. Dr. Aya Egger was not available so I saw Dr. Steven Givner. It was a very different experience and my eyes were not dilated but instead, we did several different tests (imagine an 80's video game) as well as scans. I will be sure to book Dr. Aya Egger going forward.

I ordered a second pair of glasses yesterday, Lindberg frames with Hoya progressive lenses, at another location and my PD number was 60 (29 and 31), not 63 (31.5 and 31.5) as written on my prescription from December. I went to Optical Gallery today and was told, after showing a photo of my PD reading at the other stores, that my PD for distance is 63 but my PD for reading is 60. Despite learning a lot about glasses in the past few months, I had no idea there Monocular vs. Binocular PD measurements. Now I finally understand why multiple optical stores do not allow ordering of progressive lenses online. We have a near and distance PD.

The lenses in my distance glasses are being corrected - PD 61 - after a machine (not a handheld pupilometer) was used to print out the PD measurement. The glasses with new lenses should be ready next week. My prescription was updated to read 30.5 and 30.5. The doctor does not measure PD so the staff was able to correct the prescription on the spot. I have no idea why the machine was not used in December when I ordered the glasses. Oddly, the older gentleman helping me said he didn't want to discuss the 60 PD because he wasn't sure of their licensing and training although he provided the incorrect PD of 63 in December and again said my PD was 63 on 3/14.
I had a great experience at this office . I walked in as an emergency patient with pain and redness and they took me right away and made me very comfortable. I was happy with the staff and the doctor. My eye feels so much better after treatment. I would recommend this place any day . After I was better I chose glasses and they were nice high end frames for a reasonable price .
I took son Samuel for his first eye glasses and He's autistic. The staff helped me Buy the right frames for him so they won't break, it was good decision that I purchased the right frames for my son I didn't see the doctor but he was there, I came back a week later to pick them up so the doctor helps me with glasses instructions keep them clean he was very kind I will go back again next time for my daughter. I recommend this place very friendly.
I am very frustrated by my experience with Optical Gallery. I have gone there many times in the past 5 years and had a great experience with the eye doctors themselves however one of the receptionists is terrible!
I dealt with her many times but this time was the worst and I am never returning back. In the past I have used my insurance which I know does not cover contact lense exams, however on this visit I am using my husband's insurance plan. His insurance plan DOES cover contact lense examinations and I not only called the insurance company to confirm this but I also brought in the letter from the insurance plan that details this. When I get to my appointment the receptionist tells me it's going to be $175 for a "contact lenses fitting". When I showed her the letter stating that contact exams are covered the receptionist said "I don't see that on my end". She refused to hear anything else or even look into the matter, she was plain rude!
I simply said I'm leaving. I am not putting up with her anymore. This place is going to close eventually because of this receptionist's unprofessionalism. AND I just want to note that I made one call to another local optometrist who confirmed that my plan does cover contact lenses examinations. This place just wants to rip you off!
