SHINE OPTIQUE (Luxeye Optical)

I recently had an eye exam and got a new pair of prescription glasses at Shine Optique in Williamsburg, and the experience from start to finish was very solid. The eye exam felt thorough and comfortable, using traditional equipment and a distance chart on the wall, which I personally found easier on my eyes. The glasses themselves made the biggest difference -- the vision feels clear and sharp without eye strain, headaches, or discomfort, even after wearing them for longer periods. When I picked them up, the frames needed very little adjustment and fit well right away. The look and feel were exactly what I was hoping for, and I find myself wearing these glasses much more often instead of switching to contacts. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout the process, and I was also able to use my FSA there, which was convenient. Overall, a solid experience, and I'd recommend Shine Optique to anyone looking for a careful eye exam and comfortable glasses.

Do not buy at Shine Optique!!! It was clear from the start that I need glasses for both near and distance. I was deliberately guided to buy computer / near-only glasses first, with a clear promise that I could try them for 30 days and replace them if they didn't work. When they didn't work (as expected), the promise disappeared. I was then told that almost everything I paid was "for the lenses" and that I could receive only a minimal credit, despite paying full price for the frame and being told I could exchange the glasses. This is not how optical stores normally operate, and it felt misleading and unfair. I've lived in New York for many years and have never experienced anything like this. I do not recommend buying glasses at Shine Optique.

Friendly staff with efficient, competent optometrist. I went there for an eye exam, new prescriptions and new glasses. The optometrist was excellent! They accept DAVIS VISION insurance and the place is NOT listed for this particular insurance!! Carmen was infinitely patient and illuminated me on my insurance benefits and let me try a TON of glasses before I found my favorite frame for a good value. She also gave me 10% OFF on my entire purchase. Highly recommended!

Everytime I go in, it is an efficient and pleasant experience. They are very responsive and have been able to help with anything eye related I have needed over the years. Would recommend!

I've been going to SHINE since 2020 when I first noticed my vision getting worse. The team there are incredibly helpful and friendly and they have a great selection of frames. Their optometrist is great too and easy to book with. Can't imagine going anywhere else.
