Social Eyes Optical on Flatbush

By far the best optical I have been to. I have gone there for myself and my daughter. Aside from having an extremely wide selection of glasses and and amazing team that helps find the perfect fit and size for your budget, the ophthalmologist was extremely knowledgeable and amazing with my 9 y.o. daughter. Extremely caring and patient staff all around! Not to mention they accepted my insurance! I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I usually don't leave reviews but I had such a great experience here that I had to. I was assisted by a lovely young lady named Shakera who had a warm attitude as soon as I walked in. I was in search of prescription glasses and she was with me from start to finish to make sure that I left satisfied. She was very patient with me while we looked at many different styles, etc. We finally decided on a pair that I absolutely loved, however there was a hiccup with my insurance where they weren't initially available with my plan. She called my insurance and after a while had gotten it all sorted out. She went above and beyond for me, I enjoyed her customer service and conversation so much that I will be returning and referring all my friends and family.

They were nice. but apparently not very organize. I won't use them again. I explained I was having eye pain and needed them soon. I asked how long it will take I was told 5/7 days. Now that I am calling 7 days later, I am being told I have to wait two weeks for one pair and another 4-5 days for the other. They prevented me from going somewhere else by lying about their turn around time. Now I have another week of eye pain and a sorry and attitude. They couldn't print out my prescription, said they would send it by email..and never sent it.

I've been to several opticals before. Most of them are the same. Long lines, older glasses styles and a mostly unfriendly staff. But not here. I went on a Wednesday later afternoon without an appointment. I needed to get a pair of glasses as quickly as possible. To my surprised at 3:45 it was almost empty. The woman at the desk was friendly and incredibly helpful in showing me the newest styles and also pairs of glasses that looked liked my old pair that broke. After just a few minutes the optician took me for pictures and the glaucoma tests in which all machines were cleaned and wiped down thoroughly in front of me. After that about 7 mins later the optometrist took me. She was friendly and got me my new prescription rather quickly. After that I continued to look for my new glasses. Here the staff was honest with me and told me what looked good and what didn't. They had a wide array of designer glasses Cartier, Gucci, and Prada. I finally decided on a pair of Armani glasses that with help from the ladies in the front and approved by my wife looked and felt great. I would definitely recommend this place and will continue to use them for all my optical needs.

The most unprofessional experience ever. Don't waste your time. The women at the front desk were constantly bickering, uninformed, and rude to customers. One of these women had a horrible attitude from the moment I walked in. I was shocked that while I waited, they not only had petty arguments with one another, but were nasty about other customers while I was sitting there. Someone apparently called about benefits, and when one of them asked about it, the other woman said things like "I'm not going to check them for her" and "I don't care if she gets her contacts/glasses." I don't know what I expected from people who clearly care so little about their jobs and hate one another. They hadn't checked my contact exam benefits even though I called the day before and they said it's $10-clearly, she didn't even check. I asked her on the phone are you sure, for contact lenses? And she said yes. So I had to wait for them to check in the office. Basically, neither of them had any idea what my benefits were or how to explain them. They kept asking each other for clarification and telling me conflicting things. It boiled down to "if you get the exam and buy contacts, you have coverage. If you get the exam and don't buy anything, you have to pay for the exam." But wait! They said I couldn't buy anything that day because I'd have to get a trial pair and wait a week to buy contacts. What???? So essentially, I had to buy something so I wouldn't have to pay for my exam, but they wouldn't let me buy contacts that day. I never got my exam and left. Avoid at all costs.

This is another place I discovered through Groupon. There was literally no waiting time once I arrived. The staff was very personable. I did my various eye exams and everything turned out great; I was not lost throughout the process--everything was clearly explained to me. I will definitely be visiting this establishment again in the future for my next checkup. I already have glasses and get my contacts lens somewhere else, but if I needed to, I would definitely rely on Eyes on Flatbush.

These people are so unprofessional and dishonest. First of all, there's a nice lady working there with a little soft voice. Based on my observation and how her co-worker acted she might be new. Her co-worker is a young lady who looks like she can be in her 20s. She doesn't know how to talk to that woman that is older than her, especially in front of customers. It turned me off how she was speaking to her when the woman had a question. Anyways I went to do an eye test because I was getting crazy headaches. In the end, they found nothing. I picked glasses that were very similar to the ones I currently have. They suggested I try something different and I agreed. I called twice in November to check the status of the glasses. I visited the location on October 21. I called on November 2nd and 16th because some time passed for the glasses not to be ready. When I called they said it was not ready both times and it normally takes time. By December 19th which in a few days would be 2 months, I said forget it. I called my insurance to double-check that I was not charged. I was told yes I took the eye exam but no glasses were ordered. When my insurance spoke to them they had the nerve to say I never picked glasses. I understand people make mistakes but to lie shows just how unprofessional and dishonest they are. They could just own it, be honest and say that it was a mistake on their end. Then they have the nerve to tell my insurance they can order it now. I don't want it now because months have passed and there is nothing wrong with my old glasses. I don't see the difference in the new one anyways so forget it. I will never return here because of this.

Absolutely love this optical place. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with warm hugs and joy from the receptionist down to the doctors. This is my forever eye doctor. I won't go any place else.
