Steven Hammer, OD

Pretty punctual with appointment times and nice office staff. Dr Hammer is a extremely caring doctor, very patient and knowledgible, not rushed, unusually honest in explaining the condition with only the patient in mind and does not try to sell you what will not give the patients the greatest satisfaction. I am very thankful that I have such a good Optometrist taking care of my eyes/eyesight. He has been my eye doctor for quiet a few year.

Not really the type of person to write down a review nor was i told to but, I went there for the third time after a year and everybody is so lovely and patient. Don't know the names but both Ms, and Mr. Doctors are very friendly and they don't hold back to share their knowledge with you, these people do their job with enthusiasm.

I have been a patient for both glasses and contact lenses for almost 20 years. Dr. Hammer has helped me with every eye infection and vision issue with care and immense patience for my questions. Jeff has sold me glasses that fit every budget I had, from the least expensive to the fanciest designer eyewear. I have recommended many people over the years and every one of them was satisfied and became a regular patient. From service, flexibility in scheduling, and solid deals- I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I have worn glasses since I was 5 years old and went to many places before I found the best. My toddler had his first eye exam and eyeglass fitting and enjoyed himself so much he keeps asking to go back to get more glasses. I had an appointment recently and the level of cleanliness and concern for the safety of patients during these times of COVID-19 has exceeded every other medical appointment I have been to, both in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I highly recommend Dr. Hammer and his entire office for treating everyone from toddlers to seniors with great care.

If you do not have 2 hrs to wait in a waiting room with very a curt and smug staff (most nasty elizabeth) then you should NOT go to vision associates. I have been a patient for years and the service and attitudes as well as the expertise has sunken to a very low depth ..I was suckered into buying 400 dollar glasses from Jeff the eyeglass "specialist" that make me dizzy and he didnt even adjust them for me ! He told me to bring in my old glasses that don't make me dizzy I told him I got them for 10 dollars online and he said bring them in! He needs them to figure out what is wrong?? ! Dr hammer had me wait 1 1/2 hrs after promising me the last time I waited 2 hrs that it was just a recheck for lenses and I wouldn't have to wait more than 2 min ...horrible. When confronted he shrugged his shoulders and had no apologies.i told him I would take myself and family elsewhere and he said ,""Do what you have to do " so he obviously doesnt care about the patient so TAKE HIS ADVICE! GO ELSEWHERE ! Horrific customer service..the blonde associate who works with Jeff ( I don't have her name bc she wouldn't tell me when I asked ) had an attitude that does not belong in a professional work environment. There are many other vision services in Brooklyn well worth going to.

I've been a patient for a couple years. Very caring doctor, everything was quick and easy. Great selection of frames both on a budget and expensive ones.

Not a good doctor. He recommends bad contact lenses with bad consequences. Reccomended Avaira lense. Do not get it.
