Best Ophthalmologist in NY. The most professional, knowledgeable and very caring. The office is always clean and beautiful. Very serene atmosphere. He took care of my son's emergency and was able to save his eye. Even came in to the office on his day off to take care of him.

My review Haliokopoulos I arrived for my appt on time. Filled out all docs including insurance info incl my social security number and they took photo of my card. Then I hear receptionist calling my insurance to assure payment coz there was wording on card she didn't understand. When she finished tel call She said "you hv deductible". I pointed out I hv health saving account that pays for deductible. She says ok. I see doctor gives me all necessary info n price. I was quoted 2,200 per eye for laser cataract surger. Wow but ok. In truth I hv no idea if this is high or not. As I'm leaving receptionist ask me for my card. I asked what card totally confused. With a look of disdain and eyebrow raised as well as loud enuf for all waiting patients to hear. You must pay. I explain again. Submit charge n you'll get paid from the health savings account. I left very uneasy. I decided maybe I shd see another doctor see what price I get. I call receptionist to ask for my records. No reason to go to another eye doctor/surgeon without my record incl the retina specialist findings. I was point blank advised when she gets paid then n only then will I hv my records. I asked if she could speed up process. I was told It'll get to her billing dept when she submits it. Basically holding my records hostage citing what if you don't pay. Terrible assumption n quite insulting. She got upset I got upset n she hung up on me Not a good feeling to go under knife with this office

Dr. Halikipoulos was recommended to me by a good friend of mine, and so I went ahead and made an appointment for myself and my children. Irene, at the front desk, was lovely with a very personable manner, and quickly put everyone in the waiting room at ease with her easy conversation. The doctor himself was friendly and engaging, performing his exam with a delicate hand and easy banter that made the whole process of dilation much more bearable. He has gained customers for life, as we will always go back to him for our vision needs, and we have recommended him to other family members and friends as well. A thorough eye exam from a capable and intelligent doctor...what more does one need?

Excellent doctor!!! He takes time with his patient and explains everything very detailed and clearly. This family office is quiet and very clean. The receptionist Irene is so, so adorable and kind. I will bring all my family members here. I loved this place. Such a good experience. I hope this review is helpful.

Dr. Halikiopoulos is knowledgeable of new techniques, thorough and takes his time answering questions. He did my cataract surgery several years ago & my vision improved 100%! His office is clean, serene & beautifully decorated with a welcoming receptionist.

He is a superb ophthalmologist with a passion for his job and extreme care for his patients. He saved my life at my most recent annual visit by discovering that one of my eyes was protruding and insisted that I get an MRI. It turns out that I had a brain tumor and its had to be removed. I am 5 weeks post op. My neurosurgeon credits my ophthalmologist as being a hero and saving my life

Such a nice, thorough, attentive doctor! Great front desk staff too. A small practice that will give you royal treatment and so refreshing to have this experience in the era of factory style medicine. He also sees children.

Direct quotes from the physician on 12/24/15 : "This is a private practice, I am not obligated to treat you" " I am leaving in half an hour and don't want to deal with this" "There is a hospital across the street" All of this because I didn't bring the insurance card. Even though I agreed to pay for the visit and get reimbursed after the coverage is verified. It was clear that the Dr. wanted to leave home early for the long weekend. Then why schedule this appointment to begin with and waste everybody's time ??? You should avoid this Dr. The doctor and secretary were unprofessional and very rude!
