Avoid Northwell Ophthalmology - Absolutely Unacceptable Wait Times I had an appointment scheduled for 1:45 PM and wasn't seen until 3:45 PM. Waiting two full hours past my appointment time is completely ridiculous and unacceptable. There was no meaningful communication or apology from the staff about the delay. If you value your time, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This level of disregard for patients' schedules is unprofessional and shows a total lack of respect for those who rely on their services. Save yourself the frustration and look for an office that actually honors its appointment times and treats patients better.

My opthamologist, Dr. Gorski, is patient and very, very thorough. My optometrist, Dr. Olivia Chu's a great listener and knowledgeable aswell. I'm fortunate to have this duo taking care of my vision and would highly recommend.

It is hard to believe that my husband was rescheduled TWICE due to the absence of A technician who was supposed to do the measurement before my husband's surgery. In order to meet the dates, he had to reschedule his own patients weeks ago. The secretary told us that she called and left message. But, the message center confirmed our appointment the day before the appointment on July 25 (The message was saved on my cell). My husband went twice. On June 28, he went for nothing. They could not find his appointment on the system and asked him to go back on July 26. So, he did and was told to reschedule again and leave. I left the message to the manager, Jack. He did not call back at all. Something is wrong with this department.

Absolutely horrible scheduling department, I will never again try to schedule here. I made my appointment over a month ago for my wife and I. During this COVID time, we both had to take off, find baby sitter for our four children. And we needed this appointment to check our aging eyes as well as for DMV. Only to show up the day of the appointment and be told that we were cancelled. When I called to find out what happened they said i made the appointment and no reason was given but that our appointments were cancelled by me? In which I did not cancel as I showed up for the appointment. And of course they tried to reschedule for a month later. Why would I do that, I needed this appointment today and made all the arrangements to go to see them. Who ever made our appointments I hope someone looks into their scheduling department and finds the person who did this to us so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Please go somewhere else do not go here very unprofessional and incompetent people in their scheduling department and it will cost you a lot in the end.

I only continue to come because my doctor is familiar with me as her patient. There is a difference in the staff and wait time. My son and my son's charts was misplaced. Patients that arrived after us had been seen and long gone. A 9 am appointment and at 1 pm, still waiting to be seen? On top of that the doctor wanted to cram in every other test. Responding as if I'm unrealistic needing to go to work. This is getting out of hand and need reassessing.

Dismissive administrator staff including office manager, front desk and those that make appointments. Left 5 messages with Pam to confirm my insurance. Office manager was sent an email. NEVER responded . Pam NEVER called back. Called Michael Dowling's office and was assured resolution. NEVER happened. Is this indicative of medical care too? Unacceptable to treat potential/new patients this way.

The Doctors are all competent but as some have said on here the place is a zoo and everyone seems to be running around frantic. I waited an hour and a half before being seen and when I was seen other doctors kept coming into the exam room asking questions and discussing other patients. The doctor seeing me would ask me a question about my condition and in the middle of answering another doctor would come in and interrupt him. This went on the whole time I was seeing him.This gave me a lack of confidence that my issue would be attended correctly but In the end I believe my issue was addressed. The first time I went it wasn't as bad. I think they probably at times are so over booked that the staff just cant handle the load. Also Lots and lots of young resident physicians there as opposed to older experienced Doctors which I do feel also adds to the issue because of the lack of experience running and office but when you do finally get to see someone the care is good.

I made an appointment with the Center for Monday, July 8th at 12:00 pm. I called the Center on Monday July 8th before the scheduled time to tell them I had an appointment at 12:00 pm and that I was running late. The woman who answered the phone asked me for my name and date of birth. I gave it to her and asked if it was ok to come at 12:45 pm, that I was running late. She told me that would be fine. I arrive at the Center at approximately 12:45 and am asked again for name. I tell them and they ask me to sign in and have a seat. Finally, some 20 minutes later I'm called to the front desk and informed that I cannot be seen that they don't make 12:00 pm appointments because the doctors are out to lunch. I call the office who referred me and I'm told that the person who made the appointment for me at the Ophthalmology Call Center never saved it in the computer! What a nightmare! Because I'm on a sliding scale I have no place else to go but I wonder if I should even let them do a simple exam....
