Empire Visionworks 20 Mall

I arrived at the mall on time, but because I couldn't find their location, I was five minutes late and I acknowledge that. Because they schedule their telemedicine appointments 20 minutes apart, of course they would not see me. Why does telemedicine translate to companies like this making more money by just treating us even more like cattle. But the two stars is not even because of that, it's because of the poor attitude of two of the three women that were there. The unfriendly woman that went in back to check to see if I would be seen didn't even acknowledge me when she came back out, and then when I asked her about whether or not I would be seen, she wouldn't give me an answer, and instead directed me to a woman who was on the phone, and when that woman got off the phone, she couldn't even give me a clear answer. She could've easily said I'm sorry, but we can't see you today but somehow she couldn't even bother to do that. Their customer service skills are terrible. A third woman (trying to be helpful - thank you) said that I could wait and see whether the next person showed up or not but by that time I just wanted to leave. I have been a Visionworks customer for 10 years, but that ended today. If you are going to use Vision Works, I recommend the Niskayuna location.

Had a great experience at Empire Vision Works 20 Mall. Booked an appointment online, but got a call checking on insurance coverage and was advised to hold coming in for a couple of days to be sure it was in effect. Worked perfectly. Had a comprehensive eye exam including retinal screening and got clear explanation of the results. Peter helped me pick the perfect pair of glasses and checkout was easy. Thanks!

Rude staff. I waited a month for an appointment, arrived around 7 minutes late due to traffic, and was treated poorly by the front desk clerk. Unprofessional environment--save your time and go elsewhere.

Everyone there was great. Leanne was perfect. Friendly, kind, knowledgeable. She gave me all of the options I have based on my insurance, a reasonable estimate of what it would cost me before picking out frames and all of the information and paperwork that I may need from her in the future. Everything was clearly explained to me. She even answered questions that I didn't know I had. 5 stars. Really, great experience.

I see so many mixed reviews for this location. My family and I have been patients for over 10 years but as some of the staff has changed so has the level of care and customer service. The doctor seems ok but not as friendly as in the past. When I arrived while two staff people were at the desk, I stood for several minutes awkwardly in silence before any one would greet me. I have felt like I was interrupting them or unwelcome as a customer. The staff seem unhappy and miserable like they do not want to be there and it is felt when you walk in the door. I'm not sure why I accepted this and was ok with always waiting to have a service over the years. I used to think that they were among the best and there are a few that I would say are very good but it has changed so much. I don't know if it was intentional, but they do not seem to want to care for me and my family anymore. This is not the only place to go that accept my insurance, so I will be finding another place that values me and my family and will reset is like human beings without making assumptions of who I am. I would give 0 star but I must select at least one to submit this review. So the one star for the one positive about this location is the doctor.

I have been to a few Visionworks location and this location seemed responsive, attentive, and committed. I saw the doctor on schedule and was given time to find glasses and didn't wait to long before I was taking care of. The facility was clean and the location was easy to find.

Honestly I was nervous to go here at first because of the other reviews but I was in need for a last min appointment so I gave it a chance. Everyone was extremely nice and welcoming and I felt very comfortable throughout my experience there!! They went above and beyond to get me good deals on my glasses and was very helpful. I'm not sure why other reviews are negative but I had a wonderful experience!! I came 10 min early before my appointment expecting to wait a long time like other people said but they took me right back immediately and was very attentive.
