OCLI Vision Hawthorne (Hudson Valley Eye Associates)

It is my pleasure to share my experience with Dr. Laura Tiedemann. Her exceptional compassion, and professionalism, provided me with an immediate sense of confidence and comfort. During my initial visit, she thoroughly explained my condition and all treatment options with clarity and patience. The clinic staff were equally impressive, displaying courteous, attentive, and highly professional. Dr. Tiedemann and her team deliver exemplary care at every step. I highly recommend Dr. Laura Tiedemann and OCLI VISION HAWTHORNE.

I had an emergency appointment with Dr. Calenda for shingles. He saw me right away and all follow up visits were thorough. Needed a second emergency appointment and he fit me in right away. I was vey happy with his care.

I was previously seeing Dr Calenda in his NYP office and have continued to follow him to Hawthorne and his previous staff, Regina and Stephanie, are also there now as an added bonus ! I was so delighted to see familiar faces. OCLI offers more specialized equipment and from start to finish I always have an excellent experience. I would highly recommend this office

I went there two days ago for eye checkup. It took hours to get a five minutes meeting with the doctor. They performed some eye tests which the doctor said were not correct but they didn't bother repeating them. They were suppose to call for an eye prescription which they totally forgot. After having called them several times they couldn't even find the record of my visit to the doctor. The prescription needed pre authorization from the insurance but they fail to get it and instead told me that this is the job of the pharmacy. Every time I called this office, they didn't have a clue as what was going on. In the mean time, pharmacist told me that it is the job of the doctor and his staff to get the pre authorization. To say the least, I was not impressed with the doctor and his staff.

After 7 years of various eye issues and surgeries, I decided to seek out a second opinion on complications from recent surgery, and chose Dr Tostanoski based upon a Facebook recommendation. I prepared detailed notes on my previous ocular history and surgeries, and questions that I needed answers to. As soon as the doctor entered the examination room, she closed the door and rudely stated "what can I do for you". Her tone continued and her facial expressions immediately made me very uncomfortable, to the point that it was difficult to read and explain the issues that were so critically important to me. She spoke over me, was dismissive, impatient, rude and it was 100% obvious that she was not at all interested in my real concerns or my emotional state. Not a trace of empathy was present, so sad for a doctor to conduct herself this way! It was the worst ophthalmology experience I've ever had, unfortunately I have seen more eye doctors in the past decade than I would wish on anyone. If you are worried, dealing with serious eye issues and need a little reassuring warmth or maybe just a little smile... do yourself a big favor. Don't go here.

So happy that Regina and Steph followed Dr.Calenda here. This office is great and efficient. Every one is so nice i would recomend all my friends and Family to go here

Yesterday my mother saw Dr Farris and we were informed he is leaving the practice late September. While we are truly happy for him moving on we are deeply sadden that he will no longer be my mother's doctor. This practice is truly losing a great asset and trust me his patients will also leave. So 5 stars for Dr Farris and his team especially Laura!

I came to my first exam expecting A less than positive experience. I had seen Dr Calinda previously at New York Presbyterian medical group. He performed cataract surgery on both eyes in May. I had two follow up appointments, post surgery and then received the phone call from his office telling me he was leaving the practice. After finding out, he was moving to OCL in Hawthorne. I called immediately to schedule an appointment. I was then told that the doctor would not be scheduling any appointments until October 1. I scheduled such an appointment but was skeptical so I went to see a new ophthalmologist. She encouraged me to follow up with the Doctor Who performed the surgery. When I arrived at OCLI I was seen promptly by very courteous staff and Dr. Calinda who scheduled me two weeks later for laser treatment to clean up my left eye. All the staff there seems excellent and Dr. Calinda is also very good. I had complications post laser with very high pressure in my left eye and I was told to come in the next day for the doctor to check it out. Once again, Dr. Calinda saw me promptly his assistance were very accommodating and kind and he acted very quickly to put me on for different eyedrop's. I have now had my third visit, post laser, treatment, and seeing much better. So while I was very upset that Dr. Calinda left his previous practice so suddenly I am happy with the with the Care I have received at OCLI I'm not usually happy with corporatized medical care, but this case in medical network specializing in vision care seems to be equipped to handle issues from cataracts to dry eye syndrome. I hope this level of service continues as I am pleasantly surprised.
