Beware of this doctor! I went for an annual eye check and had a swelling on my upper eyelid . Dr Calenda told me the swelling was a stye and to apply heat. He also told me I had early glaucoma. I immediately went to a glaucoma specialist. She said I did not have glaucoma and the eyelid swelling was not a stye and she was 90% certain it was cancer. She sent me for a biopsy and it is a non-Hodgkin lymphoma now being treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I hate to think what would have happened to me if I had stayed with Dr. Calenda as the cancer spread.

I am sorry people had bad experiences here, but I had good care by Dr Calenda and the practice. I had Iritis in 2013, and I thought I may be experiencing symptoms (flashing and red eyes). I was given an emergency appointment the same day and was examined (luckily, I do not have Iritis). I was seen less that week later for a follow up. The staff is very pleasant and efficient, and I felt to be good hands.

I went for a stye. I had already seen my pcp who prescribed medication. dr. calenda saw me for 5 minutes and said to keep taking the medication. I was in the office for a total of 15 minutes including the waiting room. I was billed for an hour at $273.42. I went for my follow up which was a mistake. at that time I was there for about 15 minutes including waiting room they dilated my eyes without me knowing why did an exam then told me I had to come back a third time for glasses because they can't do that with my eyes dilated. um they should have done the glasses before dilation. that visit was 40 minutes and $177.04. dr. calenda was very impersonal and I was grossly overcharged. I won't be going back. avoid this doctor.
