What a sham "vision insurance" company. Davis Vision. Ha, they paid only 30$ out of 124$ for a vision exam that was "out of network" at a Costco.. After dealing with their rude staff who couldnt even look up my member ID, not sure it was even worth it

I had an excellent experience with Davis Vision insurance representative Andrei. He is incredibly nice, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. His professionalism truly stood out as he patiently answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns with great care and understanding. I truly appreciate Andrei's help. Highly recommend! Update (12/04/2025): I just called Davis Vision for a number of questions, and the employee Kassandra answered my call. Kassandra from Davis Vision demonstrated exceptional professionalism and customer care. She patiently addressed all of my concerns, provided clear answers, and created a welcoming experience that eliminated any stress. Kassandra is truly amazing--friendly, professional and excellent!

Why are they the ones tasked with deciding if a service is necessary?!? Especially when it pertains to a service not in their expertise and is evident that the patient needs. Vision specialists should not be determining if something not related to their expertise is necessary. Makes no sense. Last time it was a gynecologist who denied the endocrinologist request. They had to argue for it, now this. How can our healthcare system keep getting more ridiculous and difficult to navigate for their profit margin.

Any good reviews must come from someone who works at Davis. They reject claims without a reason. Save your money this insurance is worthless.

I have NEVER had a better experience with a company before. They were so nice on the phone speaking with them. They walked me though everything and when we couldn't find a fix to the online probables we were having they were able to locate and office near by so that I can take my son right in there to have his eyes checked. Thank you so much for the great customer service!!!

Weren't very helpful over the phone. As newly insured by BS, it took multiple tries by both myself and our employer to finally get our list of benefits and although their website says MOST plans will reimburse out of network, BS of NE NY will not. We tried one of their in-network providers and the eye doctor TOTALLY screwed up my script (have been wearing glasses for 40 years now so I'm not new to this). So after paying for another exam to correct it I also feel there are limited GOOD options for a quality script being filled. Thankfully our employer dropped BS and although MVP doesn't offer glasses coverage, the overall plan is much better than BS of NENY/Davis Vision combo.

If I could give 1 star I would. I work at an optometrist office in network with davis vision and we have had nothing but problems within the past few weeks at our office getting a hold of davis vision. Just today I have been on hold for 2 hrs and 37mins ...I'm still holding and have yet to get through to ANYONE! Hard to take care of our davis vision patients if we cant get a hold of a customer service associate. I have an issue for a patient that I cannot be resolved with the automated system or the website...soo I guess I'll tell our patient they have to wait?...again?...and for how much longer I'm wondering... hmmm

I don't know whom Davis uses to make the glasses that they insure but they obviously don't know what they are doing in my case. My appt was July 28th. I am still without glasses. Twice they were returned because they were not correct. Fortunately my provider recognized that they were incorrect and returned them. Spent hours on phone on my behalf instead of just accepting the shoddy work. Shout out to Guilderland Vision Care. Hopefully the third time is the charm.
