Mignone Medical Eye Care

Front desk woman I don't know her name is very rude, i had a appointment with surgeon waiting six month's for that appointment? I received text message for confirmation once, then in the day of appointment early in morning 7 am another confirmation. I arrived to office and she is telling me surgeon is no longer working there, her excuse was that she couldn't get in touch with me which is lie, i ask her to call me ,to check and call went through. I just waist my time.this is not firs time she is talking rude with patient

My mother had a appointment on Monday December 22 2025 at mignone medical eye care in mount Vernon ny and was treated horrible the asesent made her last and she arrived before alot of the patients the asesents was busy opening Christmas gift and not being professional and when they came to her they said they forgot about her I don't suggest people go to this eye care specialist the help is no help please make this place a last option my mother had to wait 3 hours before she was waited on

Mignone Medical Eye Care has always been reliable. The office staff are friendly and Dr. Mignone takes his time to listen to my concerns and he explains everything. I have even brought my children and Dr. Mignone was great with them!

I had cataract yrs ago and was very afraid and nervous, Dr. Meredith P. Weiss, was the best at reassuring me. She's the Van Gogh, the Michael Angelo of Drs. I hadn't seen her since my insurance ElderPlan is not being accepted anymore. I don't trust just anyone with my eyes, so I changed insurance and I'm about to make a much needed appointment!!!!

So I first visited Mignone Eye Care about 5 months ago because everything was looking blurry. The Lady who answered the phone was very kind and gave me an appointment even though they were booked out ,once there I got an exam and was giving eye drops for dry eyes. I was then given an appointment to return in 4 weeks . Second visit went a bit different arrived on time for my appointment While waiting to be seen I noticed that some staff members were very rude and unprofessional to some of the patients .after I got my eyes checked and was giving a prescription for bifocals. I was the told to choose a pair of glasses. When I expressed to the receptionist that I had a pair I wanted to use she immediately told me i would have to pay out of pocket my insurance wouldn't cover my lens if I don't take the glasses they offer .I ended up taking my prescription some places else that filled them for me,and my insurance did cover my preprescription Only to realize that the new prescription is no good .its actually worst than the previous one.

If I could rate lower than 1 star, I would honestly go as far into the negatives as possible. I originally came here around 10 years ago for my first pair of contacts while I was in High School and had checkups every single year since. (It's required to get your eyes checked yearly if you want to get a refill on your contacts.) Meredith Prevor-Weiss was the only person I ever went to for anything eye related, both contacts and glasses, so she would have access to everything related to my files and prescriptions, as she was the one who gave them. For some reason, whenever I would call in to get a checkup so that I could continue to purchase my contacts, I was asked by the woman at the front desk if I knew my prescription, and if not they would charge me extra. I didn't always know my prescription because she would change it slightly whenever I went in, but it made absolutely no sense to me why they would ask me, when they have all the info on the computer right in front of them. Regardless, I would go find my contact lense box and read them the prescription. After a period of around 10 years I went in for my yearly checkup, the last time I have been there, and spoke to Ms. Weiss about how the last pair of contacts I had didn't feel as good as the ones prior, and that whenever I would look at a computer screen, everything was very blurry. To which she responded "that's odd, your prescription hasn't changed in 5 years" Which made no sense to me considering 1. I knew it had and 2. She had all the info on the computer next to her and she could have seen that it changed, plus SHE WAS THE ONE WHO ALWAYS CHANGED IT and I only ever purchased contacts that SHE prescribed for me. Anyway, I went home and dug through some papers and found the Costco purchase history of a few years of contacts, and not only had they changed the last 2 years, but they had changed every single year for the last 5 years. I couldn't recommend this place less.

The doctors are great. They care about their patients. I have never had a problem with my prescription since I have been going there. However, I am rating them a three because the front desk staffs have very nasty attitudes. They have no customer service etiquette, the act as though you are begging them a favour. They are sarcastic and unpleasant especially the light skin Spanish girl whom I cannot now remember her name. They are very impolite.

The retina specialist lives in Long Island and only comes in on Mondays - how inconvenient for anybody else. The main receptionist is cranky and needs to retire. She has been doing this way too long and it shows. She can be rude and dismissive. When Dr. Paul was there, it was great because he was a great eye doctor and was there 5 days a week.
