Doctor Grant removed cataracts from both of my eyes and replaced them with new lenses. She, Dr. Eldin Smajkan, and the entire team of medical professionals made the process fast and painless. Thanks to them my eyesight has so effectively been restored that, for the first time in over fifty years I'm able to read without glasses. Fantastic! And it's nice to know that they're always available to answer any pre- and post-surgery questions, or address any issues, should they arise. The CNY Eye Physicians & Surgeons office, located in New Hartford, is beautifully laid out, sparkling clean, warm and inviting. Everyone there is professional, courteous, and welcoming. I am very happy that I selected Doctor Lorna Grant, of CNY Eye Physicians & Surgeons, to bring focus back to my old eyes.

Brought my mother here after losing vision in her eye after a stroke. We went two times. The front desk workers are rude and unwelcoming. Wait times are excessive. The intake nurse is unprofessional. Dr. Smajkan broke the news that the vision loss was permanent like it was no big deal. Zero compassion. This was after he had to leave and go consult with other doc because he seemed clueless. Now for the worst part-Dr. Grant. The way she spoke to my mother is the reason we walked out and will never return. She talked to her like she had the mentality of a toddler. She should be ashamed of herself. Definitely feel like every person there thinks they are better than everyone. I feel bad for older people who go to these appointments alone. Who knows how they are treated. The only nice thing I can say is the building itself is very nice. However that doesn't make up for everything else.

I have been seeing the male dr eldin. I had appt in March but due to health issues I had to cancel appt, I didn't just not show up. I called ahead of appt & explained why I was canceling, due to illness. I called office on the Nov. 5th & woman refused to give me appt, said I have to review schedule & I'll call you back. No call back. I called again today & was advised I have been let go because I missed last appt. I explained I have numerous & major health issues & I did call to cancel in advance of appt. Women with broken English advised she went back to 2001 to review canceled appts... seriously there were different doctors in 2001. Regardless of this absolutely ridiculous comment, I advised I still need appt as he follows me for eye related health issues. Asked for manager, put on hold, same woman came back & said we sent you notification on Nov. 5th, the date of 1st call I made to them. I asked for call back from doctor, refused. She ]then advised she had other patients & hung up. I've been seeing this group for 25 years and they just dismiss you, never notified or even given the chance to explain why March appt was missed. If I didn't cancel ahead of appt I could understand a missed appt fee. But to just outright refuse me an appt is unacceptable & sadly shows how little medical offices care about patients. 25 years of being a patient meant nothing. I had no problems with the old Dr's I saw there for most of my 25 years. These new young Dr's apparently think no one has health issues & no matter how sick you are you should keep appt!! I actually asked in March when I called to cancel if they wanted me to come in even though I was sick with cough, fever & nausea. They said no, do not come in. Call to reschedule when feeling better. 2 admissions to the hospital later, I'm finally feeling up to scheduling appt. This whole situation is pathetic & sad, shows were our Healthcare is going. Good luck to anyone who chooses to go here, just know they will drop you like a hot potato and then refuse to let you speak with a manager, or your physician when you request it. Terrible policy, shame on all of them.

I had a foreign body in the eye and called to make an appointment as a new patient. They told me to come into the office thirty minutes later! Dr Smajkan examined me and removed the object with great relief. Dr Smajkan is very thorough and conscientious. Very kind and great staff as well! Sincerely, Anthony Fiorini

Shannon is the wrost unprofessional person I ever since in my entire experience as a customer service and been in healthcare for almost 15 years. She is not loyal to the people who call to have information, not telling the true to the patient according to her clinical coordinador. They will refused your care if you don't have insurance because the charge more!! NOT A GOOD PLACE TO FIND HELP.

If you are looking for any eye doctor you found a great place. Very clean, New facility. Staff is exceptional.
