I go to OCLI RETINA ASSOCIATES in Orchard Park. They did something that made me cry happy tears. They have seating now that is fat friendly and co portable for me. I weigh over 300 pounds amd before it was so traumatizing to go there. But they bought the furniture to comply wirh ADA after I asked last time I was there. They remembered my name everyone made this visit very kind, compassionate amd stress free for me. Thank you so very much. All the staff are amazing women! !AMO A MIS HERMANAS!
Don't go here if you can help it. For my 1:00pm appointment, the waiting room was standing room only full of individuals using walkers (NOT okay), and they said they were one hour behind. I checked in on time for my appointment and patiently waited. One hour later, I was called to the desk to be checked in with an apology for completely missing my name on the sign-in sheet. Then was told this puts my appointment an additional one hour behind and I wouldn't even be out by 4:30 to relieve my childcare. When I tried to reschedule, I was told I could not be reassigned doctors to suit my schedule even though I've never been there before. I'd already taken unpaid hours off of work to come today and will not be doing it again. I will go elsewhere.
Dr Lee is great, explained everything to me very well. Office staff and scheduling is very poor. Always a long wait time. No one was sympathetic towards my anxiety about a serious eye issue. Someone there screwed up my appointment time which caused me to lose a full day of work. I couldn't reschedule due to a different surgery scheduled. Then I had to go to my regular eye doctor the next morning for a horrible reaction to the procedure. Very unhappy so far! I am so disappointed that my eye Dr referred me here.
First, let me start off by saying how snarky, rude, and unprofessional the secretary/receptionist is! First time we called, she wouldn't give us an appointment even though we had a referral from the primary; said we needed a referral from an ophthalmologist (which we had seen 2 previously). So, ok... back to an ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist sends a referral to OCLI and they (OCLI) call us and leave a message. We return the call, and the snarky desk person told us it wasn't them that called and they don't have any of our info, blah, blah... So, we put it back in the hands of the ophthalmologist 's office; they're supposed to call OCLI; we'll see what happens. As someone who works in health care, if I talked to new/or old patients with such snark, I would lose my job!!! They get 4 stars for rudeness, though! (It could be time for an in-service for the administrative staff on "customer service"!)
I could not leave this practice fast enough. I waited 5+ hours for my appointment to be concluded. Most of the time I was sitting in overcrowded waiting rooms. He gave me treatments that weren't medically needed. I have scarring from an unnecessary laser surgery. He acted like I was the one who was in the wrong when I said I couldn't have the treatment because we had been there too long.
I'm diabetic so I have my eyes checked every year and I been going there for years and waiting the usual 2hrs to see the doctor . But yesterday was the last straw my appointment yesterday was rescheduled by them as the earliest to my original appointment I could get so I took it. After arriving for my appointment 1/2 hr early I proceeded to wait to be called in. after about 30 minutes I was taken back for the pressure and have my eye dilated and then put in the second waiting room and was told they were really slammed that day. I proceeded to wait in that room about 1hr. I looked at the first waiting room and it was empty, I was sitting in the empty second waiting room by myself. After being there almost 2hrs I informed the receptionist that I am leaving and I will reschedule or have my records sent to another doctor. If I could give this group a "0" rating I would this not the first time that happened. I will not be returning to this practice and will not refer anyone there.
This is our second time using this practice and nothing has changed. Limited to who we can see due to insurance The Doctors are always running behind by at least an hour then you go back and see an assistant and wait in another waiting room for sometime then if you're lucky you will see the Dr. last time I was here I waited so long for the Dr to come in they had to re numb my eyes for the procedure. A phone call ahead of your visit to let you know the Dr is running behind would go a long way what should be a 45 minute appointment is always 2 1/2 hours at least.
I didn't even have my appointment yet, but I think I'm going to call it quits with this place.
So, my primary doctor took a picture and told me I have diabetic retinopathy and then gave me some referrals. So I called this place first.
The First lady I talked to was really nice, she said exactly what that other reviewer, Sarah, said. "It may be a couple hours, have a ride ready in case they do the procedure that day" etc.
I did some research about recovery for this procedure and I have a trip coming up where I won't be able to follow up with taking care of it the next month.
I called to ask what I should do, cancel the appointment? Still come in?
The lady I spoke to today was sounding super salty about everything. She said the exact opposite of what the first woman said... she was talking to me like I was making all of this up.
I asked about why was I told it take hours to only look at my eyes? Why do I need a ride home? Why was I warned the procedure might happen if procedures never happen the day you get an exam? What?
She said my pupils will be dilated, so my eyes would be sore? I get dilation tests every year and my eyes are never sore...
Someone was wrong, looking on their website it didn't look like there was anyone higher up to talk to get things clear.
