OCLI Vision Port Jefferson

It was my first time at the office located in Port Jefferson. The waiting room was pretty full, but the waiting time was minimal. I found them to be very efficient. I was especially pleased with my provider, Dr. Anzhelika Vaccaro. She took the time to fully explain the results of my examination and didn't rush me out of the exam room , despite the fact that she probably had quite a few patients after me. The only negative was when I got home and looked over my prescription for reading glasses, it did not include the pupillary distance that is required to make the glasses. I called the office and they explained that most people go into a brick and mortar store to buy their glasses and the measurement is made there. In my case, I was ordering my eyeglasses online and that measurement is required. I don't live near that area so just stopping in is not an option. I would suggest simply including the information on the prescription since the prescription they provided actually has an area already designated for those measurements.

This office is really lousy, it sucks because Dr. Vaccaro is an angel and really attentive and sweet, but it's next to IMPOSSIBLE to get anyone on the phone to make an appointment. Their online appointment scheduler is also useless, as it just notifies the office that you want to request an appointment and no one ever calls back. I've tried calling repeatedly, sometimes DAILY and get left on hold 5 minutes... then 10 minutes... sometimes even 20 minutes before I just give up and hang up. I can't get a hold of anyone at this place yet they constantly send me TEXT MESSAGE reminders and ROBO CALLS to make appointments, but when I call back NO ONE ANSWERS. Also if you do end up getting an appointment, pack a lunch because you WILL be at this office the ENTIRE DAY.

....so, I have been a patient at OCLI for the better part of 15-20 years...went for an appointment today, and forgot my credit card home for the lousy $40.00 insurance co-pay... they would not see me...all my other doctors affiliated with same network will bill the co-pay if necessary...so, not to bill the lousy $40.00, they lost an estimated $900-1,000 from my insurance carrier...non-billing of a low amount of money is more important than patient care...go figure...

This is the worst possible Ophthalmologist practice. OCLI Vision is all about profits over patient care. Their doctors are incompetent, waiting rooms overcrowded and patient care is sub-standard. I went to 7 separate appointments and they treated a symptom and not the actual problem with my eye. I made an appointment at a different eye doctor and they diagnosed my condition correctly and established an effective treatment plan on the first visit. OCLI Vision doctors will not provide the level of professional care that you expect and you will wind up wasting your time and money. I can't imagine what it would be like having them perform laser surgery if they can't even diagnose and treat dry eye correctly. Do yourself a favor and book any other Ophthalmologist than OCLI Vision.

I don't typically leave poor reviews but my eye exam experience here felt it calls for this. I entered as a new patient for a prescription exam - where Dr. Blaine rushed through the entire process. Typically, my prior doctors would go through multiple iterations of measurements and ask which one was most comfortable. With her, we ended up landing at a final measurements where I still couldn't read the letters in the screen. I wasn't even aware the appointment was over because she just walked out of the room abruptly after. I am not comfortable with these prescription measurements and will have to go to another doctor. However, I do want to note the staff overall was friendly and helped answer my questions.

I went here as a new patient as my old doctor wasn't moving on a sergery I needed. I was in a lot of pain. I explained that when I made the appointment. I felt like I was being rushed along on all these tests, then the Doctor wouldn't let me finish a sentence when I was talking to him. Said yes you need the sergery, couldn't fit me in until over a month, longer then my old doctor. I called a few days later actually crying in pain and nothing was done, what a waste of my time and theirs

I Don't normally voice My complaints, but this office visit definitely warrants people being alerted and to avoid this Dr Chubak character. I made an appointment with this office and had requested to see Dr.Vaccaro as I was told She was very good at what she does... I was given an appointment three days later, which I thought was great. My appointment was for 2 PM. I arrived at 1:45 and completed all their paperwork by 2 PM with no problems... Sat in the waiting room until 2:55. when I was finally led to an exam room an assistant asked me a bunch of questions about why I was there... I explained to her, she said OK I'll let the doctor know And then she moved me to another waiting room. After another 35 minutes, I was brought back into an exam room, sat there for no less than 15 minutes, Another assistant came in, opened up her computer, asked me the same exact questions The first assistant did and said OK I'll let the doctor know and disappeared. Five minutes later, a third assistant came back with this Dr. Chubak Character... He didn't bother introducing himself nor did he even say hello. He just asked me what the problem Was with my right eye. I told him I don't have a problem with my right eye. I'm here about my left eye. His response was well on your paperwork you wrote that you had a surgery on your right eye. Yes, I agreed, and as my form stated it was in 1970!!!! His response was exactly this " ok OK OK moving on, why are you here?" I kind of felt like he was a little perturbed because he looked foolish, so just to put a little more salt into the wound I said did you or didn't you read the notes that both of your assistants took and the induction forms that I filled out? There was no response from him... He asked me to lean forward And proceeded to squirt liquid into my right eye without even telling me what it was. I pulled away and said I don't really want that in my left eye because it's so irritated and on fire right now I don't want to cause any more problems with it... His response was, "everybody gets drops in the eyes, no matter what" Long story short, I put my face back in the apparatus. He took a three second look at my left eye and said "your eyelashes are rubbing against your cornea. All you need is an ointment to rub on your eyelid and It will alleviate the irritation". He didn't mention to me what kind of ointment to get nor Did he offer to write me a prescription if I needed one. His closing statement was my problem was medical and not cosmetic because my eyelid is drooping and I needed to go to a plastic surgeon so my insurance will cover it!!!, with that he got up and walked out of the room. The assistant handed me my paperwork and said you can just take this up to the front counter. You're all done. What a waste of time. I would not refer Dr. Chubak as his attitude is testy pompous and slightly demeaning. I guess he was running late for his pickleball tournament !!!!!

This practice is top notch. Dr. Vaccaro is a gifted surgeon with gifted hands. This mechanical gift is only enhanced with her compassion, caring, and frank explanations. The office is very busy but well worth the wait. All personel are friendly, understanding, and skilled. Any wait time is worth the high level of skill and please remember, if you are on the table, do you want your surgeon to rush.
