I had a wonderful experience. The doctor was patient and kind, explained every step of the process, and was understanding of my needs. I am autistic, and he made the entire experience so much calmer and easier than any other visit to an optometrist I've ever had.

I visited Sullivan Optical last week and it was the best experience that I've had at an eye doctor. The staff at the front desk were very friendly, got me set up as a new patient, and answered the questions that I had. Dr. Sullivan was very kind and explained everything. He asked me questions to better understand me and my vision needs. He made me feel comfortable and he listened to my concerns. When it came time to pick out frames, the other staff were very patient with me. I usually feel anxious about this part because I feel pressured to choose quickly. It feels like an important decision to me because I wear glasses every day, so I'm glad they took me seriously and didn't rush me.

MUCH better experience with Dr. Sullivan and his great staff, than the chain (Visionworks) down the street. Good selection of frames & options, a thoroughly competent doctor, and always an enjoyable visit.

Beautiful, historic setting. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice selection of frames. New glasses within 10 days. My eyes adjusted immediately to the new lenses. Really pleased. Highly recommended!

He was able to get a script for one eye and not the other. He said "people your age just have bad eyes." I'm 56. My script is no where near a bad script. (+.75 ). I told him I could not see faces not writing by noon, yet he still contended that I am just old. I went to a different doctor in Syracuse and found out I have Vitreomacular traction (VMT) syndrome which is a potentially visually significant disorder. Dr Sullivan did not find it- that is worrisome that he immediately went to the excuse that I am old instead of looking for the problem.

Great people, very nice. Took very good care of my family and we are very pleased with Dr. Sullivan and his staff!

I found the staff arrogant and judgmental. They did not try to hide it. They also did not take Excellus.

Great doctor, and a great guy!
