Kathy was wonderful and helped me so much. She helped me pick out frames, and helped with my insurance plan! She is just delightful and kind person. I will come here again. And recommend americas best to anyone that I know.
Came here to get an exam once noticing my vision had kworsened with my current prescription. After waiting an hour, to have an "optometrist" "examine" my eyes, I was asked what my previous prescription was to then have those figures typed into his computer and declared that as my new and updated prescription. I was informed that few of their employees are properly certified & credentialed their positions here. Please save you time and go literally anywhere else.
I scheduled my daughter eye exam on 10/22/25 for today 11/14/25 at 5:30pm. I show up to my 5:30 appointment and the place is busy. There are two ladies up front helping other customers. There are other customers walking around still waiting to be helped. She acknowledges me and says she will be with me shortly. At 5:42 a gentleman appears from out back and ask me if I have been helped. I said no, I have an appointment for my daughter at 5:30. He goes to the back and at 5:44 I get a text that my appointment is canceled. He comes back up front at 5:48 and say sorry Dr. Guangbo Wu said I need to reschedule. I said no I was here you were busy and came to me late he goes back talks to Dr Wu again who insisted I be rescheduled. IF YOU LIKE YOUR TIME TO BE WASTED THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. SHIFTING FAULT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS FOR YOUR BUSYNESS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
I booked an appointment online for an eye exam at the Henrietta location. I showed up on-time for my appointment at 2:50, I had proof of my confirmation through email, and was told that my appointment was no longer in the system.? The receptionist offered for me to wait until after 3pm to see someone but she let me know that she couldn't guarantee that I would see anyone anytime soon. She then offered to book me the next day which I would've done but she told me there were no more times available. Very unhelpful experience
We walked in with a prescription and insurance details, and they took care of my wife in no time with a beautiful pair of glasses. They were kind and courteous, and we had an excellent experience.
My wife and I have been customers at this Hylan drive location for many years. We both had a need for new glasses again so back we went to America's Best Hylan Drive.
We are extremely happy with the service the store provided us between management and staff.
They work with pricing to customers satisfaction. I actually ended up buying 4 different frames this time. Last visit 5 years ago it was two. Highly recommend this store to anyone who needs to update their vision care.
The America's Best in Henrietta, NY will always have my business. The staff was efficient, knowledgeable and absolutely top notch! It was so refreshing to have this level of customer service and hospitality. Well done!
I don't even know why I'm wasting streaming my time writing a review, they didn't even give me the time to give me a proper eye exam.
After 15 or 20 years, my eyesight started to get bad and decided I needed to have an eye exam. America's Best seemed like a decent low budget option when funds are tight. However in the end it cost me over $500 and got the ole bait and switch. Unfortunately, with my line of work I added on a few features to the lenses; polarized, transitions and safety glass; but after getting those same features on my new glasses from a different place, I learned the only thing they did was the transition lenses, no polarization, not even the advertised safety lenses (which isn't OSHA approved by the way, even though they told me it was....)
Right from the start, this was not going to be America's best, in fact the eye doctor I saw could t even speak or understand me as a patient. He would look through his lense machine, make some adjustments, ask me broken questions and then tell me my answers were wrong. He was rude and impatient, the whole visit with him took less than 5 minutes. Well me prescription was wrong, it was so wrong when I picked up my glasses I said something and complained that I still had a hard time seeing at distance. But they just told me I wasn't used to the glasses and it would take some time, which seemed like a legitimate answer, so I gave it a few weeks. It never got better.
So I complained and was able to see a different Dr in a different store who tried to be better. But he wasn't.... And he too got my prescription horribly wrong, which is bound to happen when you only see a Dr at America's Best for less than a few minutes. But there is the silver lining, the office staff screwed up my insurance submission so nothing was covered or even submitted to my insurance. Normally I wouldn't be happy about that, however in this case it allowed me to go to a real Dr, one who took the time to answer my questions and actually make the attempt to get it right. I was shocked. Took more than 4 and 1/2 minutes. I was even more shocked when the new Dr compared my prescriptions and asked who my previous eye doctor was, and if he was dumb or blind. I told him both, but I heard he was America's Best so I thought it was worth a shot.... I mean Best is good right?
I tried following up with corporate complaints, but it's useless.... Hopefully this review will find you and make you rethink your choice to go to America's. Best. If you want to see, and see clearly, go anywhere else.....
