I reallllyyyyy enjoy the doctors here but the front desk staff is TERRIBLE, RUDE & do not LISTEN to the patient. Every time I go there I have the WORST experience with the front desk I don't even know the lady's name, but I did not pick this job for you nor did I apply for you, if you don't like your job LEAVE. This is unfortunate because again I did really like the doctor there he was very informative but the disrespect beforehand is ridiculous. Definitely will be taking my business elsewhere. Hopefully they figure this out because I'm NOT the only one

It is so sad for me to write this review. I have been a patient here for about 20 years. The 2 doctors I have worked with have been great through the years but they need to let go of their optician Mary Jo. I had the worse experience I have ever had at any medical facility. I took a last minute appointment to check my prescription as it has been 2 years since with my last exam. My prescription changed slightly. I was so sick putting the new glasses on and do not have time before vacation to order my sunglasses. The entire reason why I made the appointment. I called to let them know something was wrong. They basically were not listening. And now I won't have time to reorder and get another exam due to her yelling an denying my concerns the week before. I know the difference from adjusting to a new script and I am completely not okay. I didn't receive a call back. And I went in unannounced. Mary Jo raised her voice at me for over 15 mins. The entire staff and clients were staring at us. I let her know how I chose to go there instead of cheaper options to support an eye doctor that was always good to me. Well after today, I had to tell her to talk to me in a professional manor several times. Not once did I raise my voice but was firm with facts how the calls went the week prior. She does not listen just argues. I am NOT satisfied with the solution of paying $250 for glasses to be the exact same. I WANT A REFUND. I will not go back to this office until she is no longer there. I also like to mention she was complaining how busy she was and when I walked in she was gabbing about making pizzas for 15 mins. I know people need a break but stop blaming it on Covid. Very sad I hope the practice gets this resolved. Lastly, I believe she was wearing the video glasses. I feel like that is not okay working in a medical office. (I cannot 100% confirm this, but that's what they looked like). I wish the doctors the best. Very unfortunate as they are all great.

I love this office! Everyone is so nice! Mary Jo has always treated me and my family with kindness and is very helpful on picking out glasses that compliment my features. Dr. Paul China is probably the best eye doctor I've ever seen. He's so up-beat and friendly and he loves explaining things about vision that actually makes it enjoyable to get an exam! I highly recommend Brown Eye Associates!

Well after years of my vision prescription being "not quite right", Dr. Brown took the time to really give me a vision exam that has resulted in the best prescription lenses I have ever had. I have been frustrated for two years or more thinking this was just going to be the way it is for me, and now I realize great vision is possible. I can't say enough about my experience and now for the first time I am going to try contact lenses due to my faith in him and his advice. (I was told contacts wouldn't work for me and tried once but failed) So I am excited to try based upon how well the eye exam and new lenses worked out. Mary Jo was fantastic as the optician who listened and researched what lenses I had been wearing and what types I would need. I cannot say enough about them!!!!!!

MARYJO is HORRIBLE to deal with in the eyeglass purchase area. She DOESN'T LISTEN. She becomes ARGUMENTATIVE. Plus, she TALKS BADLY ABOUT CLIENTS...I was sitting/waiting for my eye appt and I saw MARYJO make rude comments about a client after the client just left the building to the other employees at the front desk. Not nice! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. The doctors need to be made aware of MaryJo's rudeness in the front room area when they're in the backroom areas.

I have been a patient with Brown Eye Associates for over 20 years. The only optometrist there, Mary Jo I have had horrendous experiences with. IE: She blatantly told me the glasses I chose looked awful on me (the Doctor apologized later saying she had some personal problems going on) and she also neglected to properly bill my insurance with several pairs of eyeglasses I had bought throughout the years. I was refunded approximately 300.00. Fast forward to today: I do appreciate her taking the time to squeeze in and see me while I was on my lunch (I had no idea due to Co-Vid I had to make an appointment just for an eyeglasses adjustment) her interaction with me made me feel extremely uncomfortable and she blatantly refused to fix my sunglasses that I also had. Mary jo has lacked tact with each interaction she's had with me. They had always fixed my sunglasses in the past never a problem so I was extremely confused as to why it couldn't be done this time around, and after calling back to speak to the office apparently their policy is that they are to never adjust other products that are not theirs. This has not been made clear in the past and even the lady at the office had recommended I go somewhere else when I explained how confused, hurt and uncomfortable I was. For some reason the super nice people I have dealt with in the past at that office is no longer there. Dr. Brown is a top notch eye doctor and it makes me sad that due to my experiences, especially a major billing blunder that was the businesses fault, that I feel so unwelcomed here.

I have been coming to Dr. Brown for more years than I can count. Recently, I asked him to fit me with glasses for mid vision which allow me to see better while working at my desk and my computer and although I was a bit nervous on how they would work out using them away from my desk...Dr. Brown listened to my request without judgment and Mary Jo assisted me with making sure they worked for me. Although I was told not to wear them while driving, I am very excited that I can see everything around me perfectly and I can still use them while doing everything else. Too many of us will easily complain about delays and things going wrong that may be beyond our control, but rarely compliment the positive experience. I have been a patient of Dr. Brown's for over 20 years. I had to move out of Rochester for several years and I didn't think twice about returning to this practice! They are very progressive. The office is comfortable and the selection of contacts and glasses is very good!
