Chili Vision Group: Pamela J Brown, OD

I called to get an appointment for my annual and they told me that I would be coming in with a REMOTE doctor! What kind of BS is that! Dr. Brown has nothing until March but I can't wait that long because I need new glasses and Dr. Chute doesn't do annual exams anymore. My friend did a REMOTE appointment and they told her she had 20/20 vision which she did not! This is ridiculous

This is more a review of Chili Vision Group (who I know) versus Pamela J Brown, OD (who I don't know). First the roses: I had been an eye patient for Dr. Baskin for many years and I hope he has continued to be healthy/happy in retirement. I saw my wife's eye doctor this time (Shruti Pandya, OD) and found her to be competent, detailed, and open to explanations. I've had good luck with the doctors here. They see me promptly and deal with me in a reasonable manner. Then the thorns: didn't have good luck with the staff and eyewear personnel recently. Was made to wait for an extended period (20-30 minutes) while one served a customer and the other talked to a coworker. Then when all the customers other than me were gone, had to pretty much enter their office to get help. They didn't like that and pleaded HIPAA at me, then couldn't find my glasses for another 15 minutes (turns out the staff stated an arrival date, I arrived the day after as did the glasses). So they had to go through the shipments to find them. So the result of all of this is that the staff called and said the glasses were ready, I arrived expecting it would take me maybe 5 minutes to pick up the glasses, and somehow it became a process that kept me in your office area for almost an hour. This was inadequate and annoying - and from the standpoint of customer service needs improvement. My wife has also had adverse experiences dealing with the eyewear folks over past years and wasn't surprised when I came home frustrated.

I LIKE THE DOCTOR BUT OFFICE STAFF ARE NOT HELPFUL. GAVE INSURANCE CARD TO FRONT DESK WAS TOLD ALL WOULD OWE IS THE COPAY. GOT A BILL LATER - CALLED TO FIND OUT THEY ARE A OUT OF NETWORK DOCTOR SO NOW OWE MORE MONEY. ASKED WHY NOT TOLD AT FRONT DESK THEY APOLOGIZED AND WOULD LOOK INTO IT. THAT PERSON LEFT AND NOW BILLED YEAR LATER FOR 139.00 AND WAS TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING UNLESS YOU CHECK FIRST WITH INSURANCE FIRST TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT SURPRISED WITH A BILL FOR MORE MONEY. HAVE BEEN GOING THERE FOR A FEW YEARS AS NOW NEED GLASSES WILL BE SHOPPING FOR A NEW DOCTOR BUT WILL HAVE TO WAIT SINCE I SPENT MY MONEY AT THIS DOCTORS OFF ICE THIS YEAR.

been going past 8 years, Excellent service. Staff extremely helpful. From eye exams to fitting, attention to detail is top notch.
