Family Vision Center - Rochester

Dr. Guy is Very knowledgeable as a doctor, friendly and is highly respected by the professionals in the optometric community - I know, I'm in the industry. He also does a lot for the community as he organized & managed community outreach and eye screening programs to help kids at Special Olympics+++. You'll get a Top level service at the Family Vision Center. I'd go no where else in Rochester for my family's eyecare needs

The office is clean and convenient because I work across the street. I went in two weeks ago for my exam and the experience was great. The doctor was awesome and the staff were super friendly. Fast forward two weeks and my experience was like day and night. After seeing the doctor, I was told to wait. I had no problem with that because there was another client being given serviced. What I had a problem with was when the client left. I wasn't acknowledged and I watched the optical person sit at her desk on her cell phone. Five minutes pass and I overhear them speaking loudly about someone's insurance issue. Surely that can't be about me. More time passed. The receptionist walked towards the offices and asked if I had been seen. I responded, yes, but I'm still waiting. She shrugged and kept going. More time passed, still on her cell phone. More clients walked in, receptionist sashayed back to her desk. Btw, her top was inappropriate for an office. The slits down the side from her armpit to waist looked like a pajama top. When I'm finally acknowledged, I go over to the desk and I'm told I can't use my insurance until Aug 1. Oh, so you were discussing my policy out loud. That's a borderline HIPPA violation. Sorry, nothing we can do. Just call us. So, I have no more contacts and the only thing I have are the two week trial pair they gave me. My doctor back home would have provided a pair to tie me over. If I walk in that office and that same woman is sitting there, I will leave and buy my lenses online. The woman that was there two weeks ago (I can't remember her name) was so nice and energetic. She took time to write down quotes for daily and weekly lenses with insurance and rebates, and without insurance, in case I want to buy glasses with my allowance. She told me should would be on vacation when I returned. I should have waited on her return because these people were rude and not friendly. The only saving grace were Dr Rama and and her technician.

I truly can't say enough good things about Family Vision Center. Whether it be a routine eye exam or an eye emergency (and unfortunately I've had a couple of those over the past few years) they are kind, efficient and accommodating. Eye pain and vision problems are very stressful but the team here will make you feel at ease and cared for. The entire staff from the receptionist(s) to the doctors are exceptional. I highly recommend them! Thank you Family Vision Center!

Good quality eye care has always been super important to me. Always striving to have the best possible vision possible. The exams at Family Vision Center are so thorough. The doctors and opticians will work with you individually and help you figure out what the best option is for you whether it be contacts, glasses or both! I have never seen this clearly before in my life, it's great! Highly recommend Family Vision Center and all of its doctors for all of your eye care needs!

Had an awesome experience getting a way overdue eye exam. I was hesitant at first to do an eye dilation exam but Dr. Guy and the staff took the time to explain to me the importance of having one done with my exam. My prescription was a perfect match for what I needed. The staff was really friendly and rally pleasant. I also really liked that I was able to fill out most of the necessary forms before my appointment from my phone. Definitely a time saver.

Absolutely love this place! The office is clean and updated, the staff is informed and friendly, and the doctor is the best! It is a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and the exam is thorough (and I got out in under an hour)! They have a wide array of frames and lots of lenses on-hand so you can walk out with new lenses the same day! Cannot say enough good things about these people!

Great service, welcoming atmosphere, and family friendly! Eye exams are a breeze, and I appreciate learning what's important for my vision, things I need to be aware of. I opted-in for text alerts, so I know when I should schedule my next eye exam. I feel comfortable as well knowing that I'm not being pushed towards one product or service or another. When I went in for my eye exam I said I was interested in also getting fitted for contacts, and that's what I ended up with. I came in recently to get fitted for glasses, and I'm very excited to finally rock a new look! Thanks to Family Vision Center for a positive experience, and I look forward (literally!) to coming back for future visits. I highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! Dr.Guy is great to work with and his team is amazing! They have been very helpful in assisting with all of my new eye wear - and make sure I am choosing correctly for my needs. Excellent!
