Flaum Eye Institute

I have been coming to Flaum for years. Every doctor I have visited with my prescriptions everything has been spot on. Today, I ended up with a doctor Vardaan Sood. I had a nurse who started my eye exam, and then I went on to see Dr. Sood. Never, ever ever again, I have never been to a doctor visit of any type That is not in any way interested in what the patient wants.He just kept lying lying about availability.Lying about where contact lenses are manufactured, lying about colored contact lenses, not being available with astigmatism, I keep bringing up all of this information because i've had colored contacts before... The rudeness, pompous. Just outrageously obnoxious and underqualified in my opinion.Flaum was great like I said, I've gone to them for years. I will never step foot in this place again and if you're wise do a double-check on this doctor. And you'll probably walk out just like I did.

My vision was changing rapidly and no one could give me a reason why or treat the problem. They just gave me 3 new eyeglass prescriptions in 3 months. Rochester Ophthalmology Group diagnosed me with severe aqueous dry eye and cornea nerve damage in both eyes. I was treated me and my vision has improved and stabilized.

Great place! Love the doctor, the staff was nice eventhough it was early! And, they have a decent selection of glasses (for people with smaller faces).

Referred to the institute due to problems with my eye. Excellent service preformed by all staff members,very friendly welcome,highly recommend for a second opinion or just go there

Wonderful exerience at the Flaum eye institute at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Everyone was so cordial.Doctors were extremely kind and thorough.Equipment was state of the art and facility was spotless. Explained my eyeproblem explicitly and what we were looking at om the screen. I.have to go back for followup in 6 weeks. They allowed my niece to.accompany in the rooms with the doctors.

2 months ago (March) my eye doctor referred me here to get genetic testing. My Eye Dr called me to let me know that they were accepting new patients and that they would call me to set up my appointment because my eye doctor had to send my referral in with all my records to them. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything to set up my appointment I called my eye doctor to let them know I hadn't heard anything. They then called here to schedule my appointments and called me back to give me my appointment times. I asked them what the address was and stuff so that I could have that information. My doctor told me that they would be sending me a welcome packet with all the information I would need to know for my appointment. 2 weeks from my appointment date on a Tuesday I still had not received any information so I called. The first person that answered the phone seem to be clearly overworked and it took a while for him to understand why I was calling. He however did say that he saw my referral but I had no appointments. I was very confused and said I have two appointments made so he reached out to the person that does the scheduling for the genetic testing. She however was not in office so he told me that he would leave a message for her to call me back. I did not receive a phone call on Tuesday but I figured I'll give her another day just because it was the middle of the afternoon and she may not have had time. I waited through Wednesday and I received no phone call. I called back on Thursday and got another person. He told me the same thing that he saw my referral but I had no appointments. I then went into the long spiel of everything that has occurred. He then put me on hold came back and said the woman that does the scheduling for the genetic testing is not in office and will not be back till Friday. He said he would leave a message for her to call me back. I asked him to please do so because this has been drawn out over a month now (which now realizing it's been 2 months). He said okay and hung up on me. So here I am Saturday and still have not received a phone call from the woman that does the scheduling for the genetic testing that was out of office all week and was supposed to return yesterday and reach out to me. The other thing I just don't understand as if they've had my referral for 2 months and don't have appointments scheduled for me why have they not reached out to schedule an appointment???

Phone staff is completely incompetent and can't handle basic questions or tasks.
