I don't change doctors very often because I do extensive research and also get advice from other professionals in the field as well. This was my first visit to Lakeview Eye Care after my previous eye doctor retired and sold her practice to them. I can see why she picked them, I could not have been more impressed with their professionalism and the fact he read up extensively on me prior to the appointment from the records that were transferred. I also got to see how they treated the patient before me and it was as well as I was treated. He knew all my issues and reviewed each one to see where they were. He answered all my questions quickly and accurately and their equipment is up to date and provided a very accurate picture of my eye health. Their "eyeside" manner was fantastic and I felt very much at ease and will continue to go there. I also found out that I used to go to that exact building when I was a child with another doctor and he knew the name of every eye doctor I had and their history as well as the history of my opticians. 10/10 easily and I'm not the average patient. Update for 2025 - same great service and same great manner - thank you again Dr. Lehtonen!

I love going to see Chad, he has taken care of my family for the least the last 20 years. He really cares about his patients. His staff is very friendly and always a smile on their faces. I would recommend Lakeview Eye Care to anyone who may be looking for an eye doctor. Located in beautiful Maplewood District in beautiful 1910 House which was converted to his practice.

Update: after contacting BBB I received a refund of 62.35 but no copy of my prescription. I am no happy to write this review. But I must. The quality of service has significantly declined since my family and I started with this practice. Last year I went in for my routine and I was asked about both my insurances. The receptionist asked for a co pay of $72.35 and said the rest would be billed. I told her that the copay is typically just $10. She said to let them bill me and I would get something in the mail and a refund once the insurance company paid. I never received any documentation. I was denied a copy of my prescription and have called countless times with 5 voicemail that never have been returned. I am so disappointed. I never expected this treatment. I would love to continue to support small business but not sacrificing my funds and respect.

Dr Chad, his staff and Lucy the cat always make for a great experience that has been a nightmare at other places! Dr Chad saved my daughter from having unnecessary surgery on her eyes that another doctor was adamant about and proved to her school nurse that she could see just fine, it was her autism that made it difficult for her to take a regular eye exam. They're very personal while remaining professional and I can't recommend their office enough!
