12/16/24: On 12/13/24, I walked in & asked for an appointment. The excellent lady at the front desk made one for me for Monday the 16th. She put it in MyChart. I went there on the 16th & checked in with the same front desk lady, who was friendly & professional. I only waited a few minutes when the nice professional technician came out to get me. She ran numerous eye tests & then the Dentist evaluated me. He was also professional & efficient. I was given the prescriptions for contacts. A different front desk lady made an eye exam appointment for 12/2025 & put that in MyChart. The place was clean & festive for the holidays.
Let me start off with ... if I could give a no star review, I would. DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!!! FIND ANOTHER EYE PLACE!!!!!!!!!! Dr. Mysore did both my eyes earlier this year for cataract surgery. My experience with waiting room times on ALL my appointments range from 30 mins wait to almost 2 hour wait time in the waiting rooms. The Dr. told me that with this surgery and my age that most likely I would not need corrective lenses. Whelp, my eyes are worse than they were before the surgery. I cannot see when it is dark out and forget having any type of light in my face and I am blinded with massive halos. My reading vision is 1000 times worse than it was before surgery so much so that before surgery I could read a book or my phone for small periods of time without my glasses and now I cannot read anything without at least readers on. My distance vision is terrible, I see shadows on everything, halos at night that are debilitating and any bright light including the sun is blinding. Driving is dangerous during the day and at night because of this. Called and left messages for the Dr and he said, "Well we told you that you may need glasses". Excuse me?!? This is not just needing glasses, this is debilitating and dangerous. Now, after giving it time and healing, I called to get an appointment to get my free pair of glasses and they refuse to service me because I am questioning the Dr.'s abilities and making a stink because I don't feel I was treated correctly medically or professionally. Now, I did put up quite a stink because I am being talked down to and being treated unfairly and that is why they are saying they will not treat me anymore but they are not the ones that cannot see! They will be being investigated by patient relations and any other place I can find to investigate them. They are put on notice!
Initially, my experience was great. The salesman I worked with helped me out and was very nice.
I had gone in because two pair of glasses from Warby Parker had not fit so I wanted to try another business.
I placed my order on 7/24.
On 8/16 I called into the store to see if the glasses had come in or not bc I had not got any update, the glasses were there so I went into the store later that afternoon.
The salesman I had dealt with before did not work there any more so the new person had no idea about the order and even told me wrong information about the order.
I finally got the right information from a manger after asking to refund a tint. I decided to ask for refund because I didn't want to have to wait another 3 weeks to get the glasses back.
I believe if the original salesman had been there when I went pick the glasses up it would have been a better experience.
The guy I dealt with was chewing gum loudly during our conversation which didn't help, plus he said "well I wasn't here when this order was placed so I know nothing about this" basically saying this isn't my problem - that is the attitude he had.
My first time at this location, staff were pleasant and I waited a long time to be seen. I figured it was just a bad day. When I scheduled my second appointment, I scheduled it for early in the morning hoping it would avoid a repeat experience. Close to my appointment date, I was rescheduled to later in the afternoon via a voicemail message. I waited 2 hours to be seen. Finally, I asked to speak with the manager who apologized and said it is her goal to change things around. She was pleasant. However, I used PTO for this appointment. The receptionists never mentioned the doctor was running behind. No one ever gave me the courtesy of addressing the lateness of the appointment before I inquired. I opted to leave. Don't waste your time. It's a poorly run office. Quality care consists of treatment, respect of time and appreciation for business. There are other options. Go where you're appreciated. It's not Flaum Institute's Mt. Hope location.
Absolutely terrible. I am chronically ill and have been to many doctors, I have been to other UofR facilities and have had amazing experiences so I am appalled at how this place treats me and other patients.
During my time here doctors: quoted studies incorrectly and tried to use those incorrectly quoted studies to diagnose me, told me to "loose weight" without actually providing guidance on how to do so or healthily keep it off, or why that would improve my condition. Another told me to "just stop taking your meds" when I was having bad side effects (when the medication comes with a massive red warning label stating sudden stopping can lead to severe sickeness or even death), and the doctor who was treating me was out of office on leave more times then in office.
I have been left out of the lurch with no medication and no communication simply because I moved , something I discussed at length with my doctor months before it happened and was assured I'd be continued to be seen
The only saving grace of this place is nurses who are godsends. The funniest and kindest people
I am extremely disappointed with THIS UR.MEDICINE, and CLINIC. When I was initially referred here, I had a feeling that I wouldn't get the help I needed. On my first visit, i had to wait almost 1hour,30minuts to be seen. I found the doctor to be unhelpful and unfriendly. On my follow-up visit, I expected them to check my eyes more thoroughly, but instead, they merely used my old glasses to create a new prescription. Now, I can only see far, while close vision remains blurry. I feel I have no choice but to find another doctor to help me get the right prescription.
The girls in the front are great upon checking in. However I have been here 2 times and when I say the patients time is NOT respected what so ever, both times I had to wait over an hour to be seen even when there were zero people in the waiting area to be seen. If I was late by 1 hour the doctor would have canceled my appt. I'm not sure who is in charge of this place but you need to step up and step in and take charge because this is not acceptable. So with that being said if you have an appt at 11am give yourself 2 hours of free time for a 5 min appt because your gonna be here forever
Probably some of the most appalling conduct in front of patients and customers that I've wittnessd in quite a while. Took my mother in for a post surgical followup for an eye exam. The woman working the desk was performing a job interview while working at the desk. After the applicant left she proceeded to loudly badmouth her in front of the waiting area to a secretary. It was loud enough that I'm pretty sure it could be heard in the eyeglass shop as well.
After the appointment my mother wanted to look at getting two new pairs of eyeglasses so we began to browse the shop. The same woman was now working in the eyeglass shop and asked us if we needed any help. We told her what we were looking for and she proceded to try and dissuade us away from looking by implying we couldn't afford to purchase from the store. After giving up trying to get us to go away she put in a half hearted effort to present us a couple of frames that did not match what we were asking for. After explaining again what we were looking for she then tried to get us to go to another store before saying she had to go do other business and if we needed anything we could talk to the other sales associate that was now available.
I don't have words to describe how unprofessional this woman was and sadly I never got her name. The date of the visit was 10/19/23 the woman was 5'7"-8" black hair tied up. She had thick plastic framed glasses and heavy eye makeup.
