I normally LOVE Dr. Berke except it would be nice if I saw him the last 2 appointments. After waiting 2 hours, I was told there were emergencies. It would have been nice if the staff called me to tell me he's running late. Why have my cell number? I was told to come back and he'll see me right away. The second time, After waiting 1 1/2 hours and another 1/2 hour in the exam room, I left again. This time I left a nice note to Dr. Berke who did not respond to me, even thought I've seen him for over 13 years. On the way out, the office staff just casually said "Sorry" and that was it.

How do you justify waiting in this DR'S office for 4 hours for a routine visit? Happened a few days ago Never will happen again Staff said this happens from time to time I found this to be appalling and will never go back!

Best Eye Doctor on Long Island. Got me off eye drops with laser surgery. Keeps me well informed of my eye and vision health. Office staff treats me like royalty.

My office experience was horrible I was a patient of Dr.Berke's for many years. I was seen by Dr Berke's wife, who claimed to be a PA. TO FIND OUT THAT NO SUCH POSITION exists in an ophthalmologist office. Dr Berke never came in to review the tests I received in the office. His wife told me to have my script for new glasses reviewed by an eye glass store Even though in the office I complained about having problems she sent me on my way. A few months later, I have to have surgery on that eye. Who lets their wife see a patient without coming into the room(or possibly being in the office). I DO NOT recommend seeing him He used to be an excellent eye surgeon

Dr. Berke has treated my wife for advanced Glaucoma for years. I have stood by and observed how he provided compassionate care for her. He is an amazing doctor who always takes the time to explain every detail of his treatment and her condition. We are so grateful for Dr. Berke's care over the years.

I have been going to Dr Berke's office for the last 14 years. He has helped me to control my glaucoma. He has good bedside manner. He listens to his patients and he explains everything very clearly. I believe Dr Berke is only doing lazer procedures now. For the last couple of years his office has been giving me appointments with Dr. Politi. I wasn't too happy with the new doctor but I continued going there anyways. I am stopping going there beacuse of Dr. Politi. He does not give his patients time. A couple of times he canceled my appointment on the same day of the appointment because I couldn't get there one hour before my appointment time. The last time I saw him, he only gave me 5 minutes of his time. I was his last patient for the day. I was still in the office paying my co-pay and scheduling my next exam when he left. I am guessing he was in a hurry. My husband and my kids used to go there too.They are not going back to that office anymore. I didn't give 5 stars to Dr. Berke because of Dr. Politi.

He was referred to me by a co-worker and I tell you there hasn't been a day I regret coming to him. He' listens to you. I was very fearful of having cataract surgery in both eyes, as he was explaining the procedure I really was tense but he assured me I'd be fine and no pain. Everything was good just as he said.

Funny, I was having a lot of problems with my eyes and I went to an topologist instead of going to an optician because I thought maybe there's something seriously wrong! When I got there, I never saw the ophthalmologist, his wife checked my eyes, and she didn't look for one of our problems I could have because I would tell her at night I couldn't see when I was reading my phone or looking at a book. She only checked for distance, so I went to get the glasses and they told me where is the prescription? I had to redo the whole thing. What are the qualifications of his wife? I have no idea.!! I don't understand how this is Legal. I called to find out. They told me that I came in complaining about. My only problem was at night that I couldn't read a book or look at my phone.
