Cary Eye Center: O'Neal Kevin D MD, PhD

I have been a patient here for several years & have always enjoyed having Dr. O'Neal as my primary ophthalmologist. I called today to try and make an appointment for my dry eye. They did not have availability that was not in the middle of a work day for a month, which is completely understandable. I called around to find another doctor to get in sooner. I called Cary Eye center back after finding an appointment at a different office to request a copy of my personal medical records. I was told I could pick up a hard copy or sign a release at the other doctors office, and they can submit a request. As I live 45 minutes away from here & work full time somewhere that closes at 6 pm, picking them up is not an option. I was hoping to have the records for the new office prior to the appointment so they could have my medical history available to review. Hopefully, they can still get those records during my appointment. I also asked questions during the call and felt it was not appreciated during the call. I have definitely had better customer service in the past here.

DR. KEVIN O'NEAL, CARY EYE CENTER has been my Opthamologist for many years. He is a very attentive and caring eye doctor. I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. My cataracts were extremely dense and my pupils are tiny and do not dilate well. This makes the surgery more difficult for the surgeon. Dr. O'Neal explained everything to me in detail so I would understand the complexity of the surgery. My vision is perfect and I'm so thankful for his professionalism and care while performing such a difficult and precise surgery!! Thank you Dr. O'Neal for all you do!!

Dr. O'Neal has been my eye doctor for about 6 years and has successfully treated me for various eye issues. I would give him a 5 star rating for that But I'm writing this to tell you a bit more about him that makes him an even more outstanding health professional. He literally saved my life!!! During my visits Dr. O'Neal takes the time to talk about my life and situation so during one appointment 9 months ago we talked about my family history of heart disease. He mentioned a simple test that measures coronary plaque and though it might be worth pursuing. Well I did. My score was very high and I was told to see a cardiologist immediately. I was in imminent danger of having a massive heart attack, yet had no symptoms. To make a long story, I was treated and am in better shape now than I have been in years. But the important thing you should know is if Dr. O'Neal didn't take his valuable time and spend a few extra minutes getting to know me better I may not be here writing this. My entire family and I cannot thank him enough. He's an outstanding Dr!!!

All professionals from Samantha the receptionist, Jennifer the assistant, Janet with selecting frames and helping with the new prescription. Last and certainly not the least, Dr. O'Neal, great bedside manners, professional and thorough explanations . Welcoming and pleasing atmosphere from everyone. It was a wonderful experience. My wife and I already have our follow up appointments.

Dr O'Neal has been my eye doctor for a number of years now. I had a PVD (Posterior Vitreous Detachment) a few years back and he has been taking care of the treatment and ongoing care for that. I highly recommend him. He's a pretty awesome guitar player as well....

Dr. O'Neal has taken care of me for the past 5 years. He diagnosed Glaucoma and immediately explained my options that could prevent me from having to use eye drops forever. I tried it and so far no eye drops. He also removed my cataracts. He is a great Dr. and I would recommend him to everyone.

Excellent doctor. I had a trauma induced cataract, that he more than successfully took care of. He was up front with everything along the way, and explained step by step the entire process. I am more than happy with my results. I went from not seeing a thing, to finally having the vision I never even had before the cataract. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of a cataract removal surgery.
