Just moved to Cary and Made an appointment online to have my vision checked and get new glasses at this location. Received a call the morning of the appt and was very rudely asked why I was coming in. "You just had an exam in May, why are you making an appointment"? When I told her I needed new glasses and would also like an exam to verify my prescription hadn't changed, she told me the appt I made was no longer available. It's easy to see why this place has so many appts available so often while all the other locations are booked for weeks out - their customer service and bedside manners are terrible.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this location on high house rd!!
I had my eye exam on January 12, 2026, where my right-eye contact lens prescription changed. I was told at that visit that trial lenses would be ordered so I could try them and then proceed with ordering my annual supply, as I always do.
Time passed with no call or follow-up. When I went into the office today to check on the status, I was told no lenses had been ordered at all, and that the staff member present could not place the order because the manager was not available. I was then told to "call back Monday."
I wear contacts 95% of the time, and being left without them because of an internal office failure is completely unacceptable especially given the premium prices MyEyeDr charges for services.
This was not a mistake on my part. I followed instructions and relied on what I was told. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and inability to resolve a simple issue in real time is very frustrating.
I expect better coordination, follow-through, and patient care from a practice of this size. Sadly, this experience has made me reconsider continuing care at this location.
I have been a patient with My Eye Doctor for many years. I woke up with a right eye issue where my eye was red and there was white over the lower part of my pupil on Thursday, 12/18/25. I tried OTC medications throughout the day, but woke up Friday, 12/19/25 and it was way worse. Having an auto immune disease and always needing additional eye scans and testing due to the effect those meds have on the eyes, I contacted my retina specialist. They indicated this was not a retina issue I needed to reach out to my ophthalmologist right away and not to go to a PCP and schedule an appt. When I called My Eye Doctor, I was told they were only seeing patients who needed eye tests for the rest of the year at all locations and were unable to help. They referred me to an outside clinic in Apex and to Duke. I reminded the My Eye Doctor employee on the phone that I did have an auto immune disease and the situation with my eye was getting worse by the minute. They still would not see me and even told me they would not be able to see me in January either. I called the other 2 clinics but since I was not an established patient, I was not a priority. So, I called Vision Source whose practice is down the road from me. After hearing my story, they were able to get me in within 3 hours. Sure enough my eye issue was common for people with an auto immune disease but a concern. They called in a prescription which I was able to pick up right away. They educated me on what was going on with my eye and even told me they would be around Christmas week and to call if I need anything. Needless to say, I am transferring my eye care to Vision Source, a private practice, where the patient care is a priority and not eye glass sales. This has been an alarming experience.
DO NOT ARRIVE 10 MINUTES LATE. 9 is FINE, 10 or 11... sorry.
I am a long-time patient... was... a long-time patient. I arrived today for my appointment, thinking it was at 9:45, it was at 9:40. I was there at 9:51. I was then told that since I was more than 10 minutes late, they couldn't take me back. I asked why they couldn't make an exception, and she said the doctor was too busy. While I do understand and appreciate policies, I don't recall ever hearing that before. I've been going there for over a decade to see Dr. Singer. On MULTIPLE occasions (who I love)... during that decade, I've had to wait longer than 5-7 minutes to speak to someone at the front desk. Likewise, I've waited up to 30 minutes before being called back; and, several times, after being called back, I sit in the chair waiting for the doctor for over 10 minutes. The fact that the front desk associate didn't just say "hey, you should be aware of our 10 minute policy, but since you're 1-2 minutes past it, we will make an exception" was not only irritating, but even after I probed, she was steadfast in standing behind the policy. I've requested my electronic records. I will never come back to that office or another MyEyeDr office. There is far too much competition in the area (yes, there are still some around that they haven't bought yet!) to be treated like this after a decade of loyalty. I'm awaiting a callback from the local office Manager, but I wanted to share my experience with the public. I hope those 1-2 minutes I was late was worth losing a patient that spends over $1k per year there. Two patients, actually... my wife won't be going back either.
Schedule my appointment, learned the day before it was a Teladoc appointment. I went anyway because it was scheduled the same day as my physical. Appointment started at 3:20, at 4:30 they asked me to reschedule due to technical issues. The local staff were apathetic and the remote staff did not even acknowledge that I was in the room as they said, "call support" and hung up the phone. Be wary of MyEyeDr. They have a below 3 rating for a reason.
i like my eye dr just fine, but their website is absolute trash.
to log in, they send me an email with a link, THEN text me a code to verify I'm really me. Once I log in, I can't do ANYTHING except book an appointment.
When I try to retrieve my prescription, I enter the same info I entered to log in, but now their system tells me I don't exist. I've been coming here for YEARS, most recently in 2025, and it still can't find me.
Might be time to find a new dr.
After my visit I ordered Ray-Ban Meta glasses. I requested to cancel this order, but they said we don't have that option. After receiving the glasses, I plan to return them because they are not ready to be taken. They advised me to contact Meta customer support. When I contacted Meta support, they asked for the serial number. I provided this serial number, but they said the information is not available and mentioned that MyEyeDr may have purchased them through Ray-Ban. They suggested I reach out to MyEyeDr. Today, I contacted the MyEyeDr office and spoke with the Manager, who gave me the RayBan customer care number. When I called customer care, they said I am not an authorized person and that the MyEyeDr team needs to contact that number before they can start the process. I told this to MyEyeDr. Manager. She advised me to go to the MyEyeDr website and contact patient relations. I am really having a very bad experience.
27oct2025 I already sent message thru MyEyeDr Patient Relations as of now no response.
My family loves this place. We were recommended by some friends that have been going for years. The manager handled our transaction from start to finish with great customer service. It was tremendously busy but everyone held their cool and provided excellent service. Thank you so much and have a Happy New Year!
