I had a great experience with Dr. Phillip Boykin, OD in Chapel Hill, NC. He was very attentive, took his time, and answered all of my questions thoroughly without making me feel rushed. He explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable with the plan moving forward. I truly appreciated his professionalism and care. Highly recommend.
Austin at MyEyeDr. in Chapel Hill provided excellent service. He adjusted both my sunglasses and prescription glasses with great care and professionalism. He was friendly, patient, and made sure everything fit perfectly before I left. I really appreciated his attention to detail and genuine helpfulness. Highly recommend this location and Austin for anyone needing optical adjustments or eyewear care
Wonderfully welcoming staff and knowledgeable about insurance options. Excellent selection of eyewear. Very short wait time. Both Dr Hillsgrove and Dr Boykin have great expertise.
super nice doctor however very rude and racist front desk staff. The front desk worker "Riley" was super rude to me from the start and when I got on the phone to speak spanish with my mom to explain insurance to her she got even ruder. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a friendly environment.
Go somewhere else. If you want clear, crisp vision, do not give this establishment business. (This is a really a zero rating.) My optometrist is on maternity leave so I gave them a try. Two attempted prescriptions later (in an effort to allow them to get it right) I have better distance vision without this prescription. One of the assistants even admitted the prescription I was given the first time was weaker than my original one. Guess what? So is the second one. The optometrist here has not provided an accurate prescription all summer. The ladies in the front are lovely, but they cannot make up for the incompetence of the doctor and lens manufacturer here. You want the best vision for yourself? Go somewhere else.
My mistake? Not reading their reviews first.
If I could give this company a zero, I would. THERE IS NO ACCOUNTABILITY ON THEIR PART FOR ANYTHING! First, the practice in Durham gave me an RX that was several steps too strong, so not only can I not see well, I am dizzy and nauseous all the time. So, I went to another doctor at My Eye Dr. in Chapel Hill and got what they hope is a better RX, but I don't know yet. When I went to pick up those (after another week of dizziness) I was old "the lab screwed up and they don't fit your frames." I called today to see when these redone lenses will be delivered, and was told by the manager "WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER OUR LABS". I highly recommend going elsewhere.
Came in for replacement lenses for my glasses. The lenses were cut wrong and would not fit my frames. 5-7 business days on the turnaround for those lenses, so add another 5-7. Mistakes happen , so I kindly asked if there was any kind of small discount for a future purchase that could be offered to remedy the mistake. None was offered by the manager on duty , and when asked what his stores customer satisfaction policy regarding discounts , he informed me that his manager above him would be angry at him for offering such a discount due to the relationship with insurance ; a ridiculous policy since there is obviously some kind of gross profit that you can afford as a loss. Now you've lost a customer instead. To boot, there was no contrition or apology offered for the inconvenience. No kind of ownership as the face of a business for the mistake.
My husband walked out with a prescription that actually works, comfortable contact lenses, and is awaiting glasses. We have previously gone to 5 star, local eye clinics and they have been hot garbage. Where they excelled at customer service, they equally failed in getting the proper prescription and adequate contact lenses. Go to this practice if you want to see well. My husband's quality of life has improved.
Edit: so a year later my husband's glasses came apart, manufacturing issue they were not broken, he went to get them fixed and was told there was nothing they could do since it had been over a year. We are talking a month at most! He spent hundreds of dollars for them to not even consider a quick fix. Never again.
Edit part 2: glasses replaced and I'm appreciative enough that making it right is good enough for me to continue with this practice.
