I love Advantage Vision Center. Dr. Newsome is one of the most knowledgeable and attentive optometrists I've worked with, and the supporting staff all have incredible bedside manner. It's an efficient operation - no waiting around all day to get to your appointment. I would highly recommend for a structured, yet emotionally competent experience!

I went into Advantage with a corneal ulcer and Dr. Newsome was rushed, dismissive, and rude. I left the office two days in a row feeling confused as to what was going on with my eye, anxious, and uneasy. After my second appointment, she was even less interested in answering my questions including something as simple as, when can I return to wearing contact lenses? I have severe anxiety and a lifelong history of vision issues, which Dr. Newsome knows from my medical records. I called after getting home from my second appointment still feeling uneasy, in pain, and having unanswered questions. She was extremely rude over the phone, trying to make me feel guilty for wasting her time. I explained that I am having bad anxiety and pain in the eye that she said was healed and instead of providing reassurance, a plan of action, or offering me to come back in for another appointment, she plainly told me that she's sorry that I'm not confident in her abilities to care for her patients. I have never been scolded by a doctor for asking a medical question. I wasted so much money here and left feeling completely worthless and still in pain. Steer clear.

Professional, thorough, friendly staff. Dr. Newsome is a joy to work with. Always positive and encouraging. I visited Advantage over 20 years ago and I returned because they are so much better than the cookie-cutter/franchised vision centers of today. (One of which referred me to another doctor for shots in my eye that I was told I definitely don't need.)

I made an appointment as a new patient. I received a confirmation email. I drove almost 30 minutes to the office to learn that the doctor had called out for ann emergency. And this receptionist was like we were trying to call you? I have my phone in my hand. Nobody called me and nobody emailed me to tell me that the eye doctor was not going to be there. Then she proceeded to tell me she didn't know when the doctor was gonna come back, I said Don't call me back to come over here. That was very unprofessional not to email me at the very least to tell me that the doctor wasn't in today. I don't appreciate my time being wasted.
