I had a great experience with Charlotte Contact Lens Institute, just recently I got diagnosed with keratoconus. Dr. Cipperly is wonderful. Very kind, patient, and listens to you. I just got my first pair of scleral lenses and its AMAZING the difference. For sure LIFE CHANGING. I have found my long term eye care with Charlotte Contact Lens Institute. I also want to say that Elizabeth Cunningham is wonderful also in teaching you everything you need to know about your scleral lenses. I can't say enough good things about the Charlotte Contact Lens Institute and Dr. Cerenzie. They specialize in scleral contact lenses, and clearly know their craft inside and out. I've been dealing with keratoconus for over 20 years and have seen countless eye doctors and gone through more eye exams than I can remember. From the moment I walked in here, the experience was on a completely different level. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the doctors, is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They take the time to get to know you and treat your situation as individual, not routine. Because of the care I receive here, I willingly travel two hours each way, and it's absolutely worth it. Since switching from hybrid lenses to scleral lenses under their guidance, my vision has never been better. Eye irritation is basically gone, the lenses are far more comfortable, and they last significantly longer. In fact, I've never had a set of lenses fail since making the switch. If you have keratoconus or need specialty contact lens care, this is hands down the best place I've ever been. I only wish I had found them sooner.

I wanted to share our fantastic experience with ortho-k lenses through the Contact Lens Institute. My son has been wearing ortho-k lenses for 4 months, and the results have been incredible. His vision has improved significantly, and he loves the freedom of not needing glasses or daytime contacts. Dr. Cerenzie and her team were very professional, patient, and thorough throughout the entire process--from the initial consultation to the follow-up visits. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made me and my son feel comfortable and confident with his new lenses. I truly appreciate the care and attention provided. Seeing how much easier daily life has become for him has been so rewarding. I highly recommend the Contact Lens Institute to any parent considering ortho-k for their child!

I was diagnosed with keratoconus years ago and have had bilateral corneal transplants that so far have lasted nearly 20 years. In order to have functional vision scleral contact lenses are a necessity. I recently moved to the Charlotte NC area. The Keratoconus Foundation highly recommended Dr. Ariel Cerenzie of the Charlotte Contact Lens Institute as an excellent choice for fitting scleral lenses for patients with Keratoconus. I found Dr. Cerenzie to be very caring and quite knowledgeable about my condition and needs. Now in the process of fine-tuning my new scleral lenses and already experiencing better vision. I would recommend the Charlotte Contact Lens Institute and Dr. Cerenzie to anyone in the Charlotte area with keratoconus and/or corneal transplants.

Dr. Cerenzie is truly an amazing optometrist! She is incredibly smart, kindhearted, and genuinely caring. She takes the time to listen, is very attentive, and always makes me feel comfortable and valued. Every visit feels more like seeing a friend than just being a patient. I always enjoy my appointments with her, she is simply the best!

A little long, but worth the read ! I'm so fortunate to have been referred to Charlotte Contact Lens Institute ! I've had Keratoconus for 15-20 years, and have only received mediocre care and attention to my disease (in my opinion) until I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and working with the doctors and staff at CCLI. They are the most technologically advanced, knowledgeable, caring, and empathetic group I've ever worked to help me enhance my vision, as well as take away so much of the stress and anxiety that comes from the simple things, such as driving at night, watching the golf ball fly in the air after I hit it, and knowing exactly where it landed, not having to wear sunglasses, even when it's cloudy & raining. I've personally worked with Dr. Cipperly, who has firsthand knowledge of what poor or no vision at all can do to a loved one, as well as their family. She has taken her time with me, and listened to what I had to say without her doing all of the talking and sending me on my way like has happened to me many times before, and with supposedly some of the top ophthalmologists in the southeast. Now, as a result of how CCLI treats their patients and does business, I'm ecstatic to report that, after having 20/50-60 vision all these years with other scleral lenses, I can now see right at 20/25, and Dr. Cipperly is still tweaking my lenses !! I'm very happy with the results, but the doctors there will not stop until they are satisfied that they have done everything they possibly can to give their patients the best care and chance to improve their vision and leave there with a clear sense of satisfaction. I highly recommend anyone with vision issues that wears contacts, especially sclerals to at least have a consultation with one of the doctors at CCLI. It can be one of the best investments you may ever make !!

Dr Crenzie at CCL is by far the best doctor I have had to fit my contacts. As a Keratoconus patient for over 30 years, I have seen a lot.
