Costco Optical Department

The OG Costco in Charlotte. I have been a member since this Costco first opened in Charlotte decades ago and I have always been a fan! Excellent customer service, great selection of name brand and Kirkland brand stuff. There are folks who are working here for 2 decades now! Awesome gas station that beats the other gas station prices. The only problem is that it is super crowded during the weekends and even some weekdays. Love this store and highly recommend!!

I love Costco. Their optical department -- not so much. The QR code queing system needs some revising. After waiting 25 minutes (understandably b/c they were busy), a text message directed me to Station #1, at which another customer started engaging my appointed optician. Their interaction lasted 35 minutes!! After 25 minutes, I asked him how much longer it was going to be or if someone else could help me. He's said he'd be right with me. REALLY?! When I got home, I noticed that my invoice showed clear lenses when I had asked for Transitions. I called & found out that he had forgotten to include the Transitions. I spent 60 minutes waiting for a transaction that took less than 15 minutes and still wasn't accurate. Unbelievable...

Ladies here are not helpful, they barely moving from their chair to help or show something. Rude behavior, no motivation for them to work. Time: Oct 30 2025 7 pm.

I am disappointed with the service I received. They called me and told me my frames were ready that I ordered & when I got there they were in fact not correct. They thought my broken frames were the new ones..... then when I got there they offered to ship my frames when they got there for the inconvenience and I gave them my new address. When they arrived at the store, they called me and left me a voicemail saying they were shipping my glasses to the incorrect address even though I gave them the new one. When I called to tell them they said they "lost" my new address I gave them. I ended up just driving all the way back there to pick them up to avoid anything else from happening. Very inconvenient.

The check-in scan app for waiting is useless. The staff do not make it easier either. They seem to focus more on prolonging interactions with individual customers, not out of a desire to provide personalized service but seemingly to pass the time until their shifts end. This approach, unfortunately, results in extended wait times for others and gives the impression that efficiency and customer satisfaction are not their priorities. One star is generous.

I have purchased many glasses and contacts from this location and always get great service. I like that they take the time to give you personal service no matter how many people are there waiting. Every customer gets attention and great service. The prices are great and turn around is about 5 days on glasses and special order contacts. I highly recommend going to Costco Optical.

The new line system is a huge fail. Staff are standing around doing nothing and there are few customers, but all waiting to be called. I've used Costco optical in the past for the convenience and lower cost, but seriously rethinking about using online options .
