They solved what others couldn't- I spent 9 years trying to get my sight back after my cornea in my right eye collapsed. Dr. Krisa and the team stuck with me until we figured it out and after almost giving up I just tested at 20/20. This team is special and they do what it takes to help patients while creating an amazing, welcoming atmosphere. Highest recommendations if you need eye care.

I felt compelled to write this review as I have seen a lot of very poor reviews about this place. Firstly, Innovative Eye Care is incredibly efficient. The receptionist quickly checked me in upon my arrival. Although I gave them little to no information about my vision insurance, the receptionist had everything ready to go along with what my insurance covered. My contact Lense appointment was scheduled for 10:40am. I was called back at exactly 10:40am on the dot by the technician. The initial exam testing with the technician took no more than 10 minutes. After running through the initial exam, Dr. Sarah Kenning ran through my results with me, asked if I had any questions, and continued to assess my eyes with a different set of exams. She was very pleasant and eager to address any concerns. Although I had no concerns as I was there to simply get my contact prescription refilled, she gave me the impression that she genuinely cared about her patients and wanted to ensure that I was happy with my visit. Once my appointment concluded, Dr. Kenning walked me back to the front so that I could order my contacts and close out payment. I sat down at a chair in the front in which I was greeted by a very nice man. This process was so EASY! He did not question insurance, tack on additional charges, etc. First, I asked for a 6-month supply of contacts, thinking this would cost a pretty penny. However, he notified me that the contacts were covered by insurance as part of the allowance and a 6-month supply would be completely free to me. I then asked how much a yearly supply would cost. He was very knowledgeable and quick to answer as he had all the numbers already worked out and ready to go prior to sitting down with me. My bill came to a total of $200 after insurance, which included the yearly supply of monthly contacts plus all exams/testing. This cost seemed very reasonable to me. I was expecting a higher bill quite frankly. I would recommend Innovative and will be back next year!

Highly recommend Innovative Eye. If you need contacts, Miriam is awesome. So patient and a great coach - even for someone squeamish like me. I never thought I'd be able to wear contacts, but now I have them!

After receiving multiple emails to reschedule for an annual eye exam, I felt it was important to share my experience from last year. My visit was disappointing on multiple levels. The technician did not listen to my concerns, and the doctor did not conduct any meaningful examination or ask relevant questions. The doctor in fact did nothing. No tests or anything. She barely even looked inside of my eye with the light. Instead, I was told to "come back in 2-3 weeks if the issue continues," with no effort to understand what was actually going on. I left the appointment frustrated and sought guidance from my primary care provider, who immediately identified the issue as dehydration -- something my eye doctor should have explored and identified with basic questioning. In my experience, this practice does not take the necessary steps to properly assess or diagnose patient concerns. Avoid at all costs.

Highly disappointed! I took off work to go eyeglass shopping seeing as though there are no weekend hours of operation. I called ahead and was advised I could walk-in to browse. I arrived and checked in at the front desk and started looking around. There was an associate finishing up with a customer. Once the customer left, the associate gathered paperwork and went in the back. I was the only other customer on the floor. The associate never said anything or even asked if I needed assistance. I blew it off and continued looking at the frames. I located a few, sat down and tried them on to see if someone would offer assistance it NEVER happened. After being there 30 or so minutes I ended up leaving. This place was at the top of my list to visit for over a month and to finally make it there and have that experience was disappointing.....never again!!!!!

I had an outstanding experience at Innovative Eye Care! My wife has been a patient here for a while and has always spoken highly of the team, so I decided to make the switch--and I'm glad I did. From the moment I walked in, every interaction--from the front desk staff to the technician to Dr. Kenning--was warm, professional, and thorough. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, yet everything was handled with precision and care. My annual eye exam included all the standard tests I've had in the past, plus a few new assessments I hadn't experienced before. What really stood out was the level of thoroughness, individual care, & communication: Dr. Kenning is even coordinating with another one of my physicians regarding a specific issue, which is a level of care I never received from my previous provider. I'm extremely satisfied and would highly recommend Innovative Eye Care to anyone looking for top-notch service from a locally owned practice that truly goes above and beyond.

I went to Innovative Eye Care on Kenilworth Avenue in Charlotte, and was helped by Michal. I am 77 years old and she was very patient and kind and knowledgeable in seeking to understand my eye care needs. I would go back to this location and see guidance by her again if needed.

I am highly satisfied with Innovative Eye Care. Dr. Mumford and her team are phenomenal. For my first visit, I was greeted with the warmest smiles and the best service. Dr. Mumford made sure I was comfortable during my exam. Once the exam concluded, she took the time to explain my current eye health and vision. I was also very happy with my assistance from Lead Eyewear Consultant, Jenn. She helped me find the best frames suited for what I was looking for, and for what looked best. Innovative Eye Care easily earns 5 stars!!!
