I have been a patient at Carpenter Eye Associates for many years now. Dr. Matthew Carpenter is an excellent optometrist. My former eye doctor was killed in a motorcycle accident more than fifteen years ago & I never thought I would ever find another optometrist as kind, compassionate & caring but I did!!! Dr. Carpenter is one-of-a-kind!! He is very attentive to my needs, a good listener, very knowledgeable in his field & proactive when treating potential problems. He always makes me feel comfortable, answers any questions or addresses any concerns I may have, conducts very thorough exams, & is very personable. I'm grateful he's not only my eye doctor but also a friend. The office staff (especially Ashlynn) is wonderful, as well. She & her co-assistant are both very pleasant on the phone, easy to talk to & quick to schedule/reschedule appointments and/or return my phone calls. I have always had great experiences at Carpenter Eye Associates & would highly recommend them for any optometrical needs.

I have seen Dr Carpenter for several years, and never had anything but exceptional service by him and his office staff. He is very thorough, explains procedures well, and is personable and nice. This last visit I also had my 12 yr old son in for the first time, and Dr Carpenter was very good at explaining things to him, and keeping him at ease. The ladies at the desk are great, and always very helpful, whether it's helping choose glasses and frames, or working out the billing. I would recommend this eye doctor's office any day.

We have been beyond pleased with Dr Carpenter and his office and staff. Personable, professional and spends the time listening to his patients. You never feel rushed or not heard. Dr Carpenter diagnosed what others missed. Highly recommended!

My family and I were referred here by some neighborhood reviews. We had recently been going to Horizon Eye and they were completely awful. The doctors communication and bedside manner at horizon was ALSO garbage. I digress. Dr carpenter has been so helpful to my sons treatment that he really enjoys going to the eye doctor now. I've also become a patient there and really appreciate their level of care. Highly recommend!!

Went here after moving to Charlotte and needing a new eye doctor for the first time in 20 years. Ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Dr. Carpenter was extremely personable, thorough, and explained everything. Great visit. Will be going back!

Your local, friendly eye doctor. I'm always seen quickly and my appointment is personal but completed efficiently. Highly recommend!

Dr. Carpenter is a caring doctor, he has been my eye doc for 31 years. He is the best around...The staff that works there are 2 awesome ladies

Well this is a review from my old review it was 5 stars now I think 2 stars is more becoming of how this place is now. Unfortunately I do not feel the same level of trust I once had. I have been coming here since I was 4 years old and I'll be 29 in a month. I feel like they just tried taking advantage of me. They tried charging me for something up from that I did not need and when I asked about it I was told no u don't have to get the 39.99 add on but he may recommend it. Also my co pay is TWENTY dollar. Then they want to charge another 60 for contacts fitting...... when I have been wearing contacts for the past 4 years. We already know how my stigmatize is..... then when I asked the difference Mrs Ashlyn said I don't know but it's much different when it is not..... not that I can remember. So in a nutshell I feel sad, betrayed and let down. DR. Carpenter is a amazing doctor, Ashlyn is also a great person. I don't know what the deal is because I walked out to the car where I have been sitting for 32 minutes calling other places and the 120 they are trying to charge me here with insurance is 2x and some places 3x the price...... so much for the 25 years of loyalty....... I'm just another number. OH AND FORGET ABOUT TALKING TO THE DOCTOR ABOUT THIS STUFF. I asked them to have Dr. carpenter call me back so we can talk. Ha that is not going to happen..... I'm in my truck and just watched him get into his nice new car and drive off. P.s hey doc I do like the car but I'm no longer going to help pay for it. I wish you all the best of luck and hopefully this will help improve services here but i doubt it!
