I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. I ordered my glasses in November and did not receive them until February 18 -- nearly four months later. Throughout that entire time, every interaction with the staff was rude and unprofessional. Each time I inquired about the delay, I was dismissed. It was eventually discovered that the frames had never even been ordered. Instead of investigating, they repeatedly assured me everything was on track and acted as if I was overreacting. This level of negligence is unacceptable, especially when customers rely on corrective lenses for daily functioning. When I finally picked up the glasses, there was no apology and absolutely no offer of a discount or compensation for the four-month delay and inconvenience. The only reason I used this business is because it is the only provider within an hour that accepts state health insurance. Otherwise, I would never have chosen it -- and I certainly will not return. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative options if possible.

This office seems to rotate staff yearly. Each time I visit there is someone new, but it has always been a great & efficient experience. However, this past year (2025), the young lady as the "receptionist" was absurdly rude. I had to hear how she spoke so poorly to a patient over the phone. She was masking remarks that were appalling. Then after being seen I was advised to go into optical to start checking out glasses and that the lady in charge of optical would be with me shortly. (I believe her name is Tina?) The other ladies started asking amongst themselves where was she? I gave them the benefit of the doubt & was trying to be patient given the fact I was under the impression she was busy with another patient. FALSE!! After sitting there waiting for her came to find out she was outside smoking/vaping/having the time of her life on the clock with patients waiting inside?!?! Just ridiculous! Then, it's been over 3 months & I have yet to receive my glasses. This had never happened before. I had never had not one issue with this facility until now & its multiple things going on. Its extremely upsetting. What has this facility turned into? I've been coming here for YEARSSS, decades if you will. Since I was a teenager. Definitely will have to move my business elsewhere & if I don't receive a resolution, I will be moving forward with a formal complaint. Very quick to bill my insurance and pay the remaining out of pocket but the services/product not rendered. The DR is fine but the staff upfront will be the downfall of this facility unfortunately. Please do better & uphold yourself to a professional standard.

I have been going to Bladen Eye Center for many years. My daughter got her first set of glasses from them as a teen and she is now 26 years old. With that said, we have been very loyal customers but due to the lack of communication with the optical center and blatant disregard for messages I have left, we will be taking our future eye care needs elsewhere! My husband has been waiting to have his glasses ordered for almost a month now. I realize that there has been some staffing issues but surely someone can figure out how to process VBA Insurance. I even had Mrs. Jeanette from VBA call the young lady in the optical center to talk her through the process and when the phone call was dropped, she never even called the lady back to finish the task. After that incident, Mrs. Jeanette emailed me to say that I should probably go elsewhere because that office seems to have a lot of issues. So, today I am picking up my husband's eyeglass prescription to have it processed at another optical center in Elizabethtown. I realize that when someone is put in a new position in a workplace that there is a reasonable time period to allow for errors due to lack of knowledge, such as filing on difference types of insurance, but being made to feel like an oddity because I have VBA and to be told that hardly anyone uses that type of insurance is appalling! The insurance can only be used to obtain proper benefits when filed by a knowledgeable individual and unfortunately the young lady in that department isn't that person! I rarely leave reviews on businesses, especially when they are so negative but if something doesn't change in that office, it will be closed by this time next year! As much as I dislike the thought of establishing eye care somewhere else, I have no other choice at this time.

1. Still don't have my glasses after over a month (originally ordered 07-29-2025). No reply to voice messages left on your phone system on 09-08. 09-10, after no reply from previous message, called and someone finally answers phone, glasses are not in and they are unable to answer when they will be in... 2. Prescription sent to BlinkRX without the required "reauthorization" according to Brie at Blink. I called and spoke to someone at your office about that 08-21-25 and it has still not been corrected. Mentioned this again on the 09-10-25 call. 3. On 08-12 when I went to pick up glasses the first time, the person who had ordered the glasses kept trying to convince me that the bifocal section of the new glasses was "the same" as my old prescription when the focal point was at least 18 inches different. Still waiting for corrected glasses. 09-11-2025: No response again from the previous call regarding glasses and it looks like the best the owner can do is a canned response of "Call the office", without reading where I HAVE called the office multiple times. Seems like that is their only response without actually making any improvements. 09-16-2025: Called, yet again about my non-existent glasses, and spoke to Dana who indicated that she could not find a record of them on the "labs" website. So, i canceled order and Dana said that $279 would be credited back to my account by their "Corporate Office." They should contact me by the 19th. 09-25-2025: Crickets...still nothing. I would suggest that if dealing with this company, never, ever, prepay. 09-29-2025: Called again and left message regarding no contact from "Corporate Office" regarding refund. No response.

The absolute worst eye doctor office ever. I've been waiting for my daughter's glasses for almost 4 months and still no glasses! I made myself an appointment 3 months ago. I called one day to see if my daughters glasses were in yet and they weren't, so I decided to ask if their were any earlier appointments for my latee appointment due to cancellations she said yes!! So she changed it to what was supposed to be today, I get here and the girl tells me I don't have an appointment today!!!!!! This is complete BULL. I took off work to make this appointment. So now I'm missing out on money and have to wait another month for an appointment. Idk who these new people are in this office. They are the absolute worst!!!!

I am a patient at Bladen Eye Center Elizabethtown NC. I was in for an eye exam on 10/22/25. I ordered glasses. I have yet to receive my glasses. I called every week after 2 week period of waiting. Always the people at office looking at computer with excuses from lab. On December 22 the lab said order was canceled. I am livid. I talked to manager on Wednesday and Friday. She said computer said glasses were finishing. I asked could she call them. She assured me she would call and call me back with information about glasses. She did not. I am upset because office personnel should have been calling to find out why a patient's glasses were not finished after a month much less almost 3 months. This is unacceptable. I'm trying to find out who owns this office now so I can let them know about my experience. This office wasn't like this before. Unbelievable.
