If I could give 0 stars I would. The front desk lady is absolutely HORRIBLE. my glasses broke so I was seen and ordered my glasses in December and it's February and I haven't gotten a call back from them. I've called multiple times and no answer. Not to mention she charged me $15 for new frames while I waited for my glasses, she literally popped the lenses out of a customers glasses and put mine in. She then called back 5 minutes before closing saying I can finally get my glasses 2/25/25. As I walk up at 2:59 she closed the door in my face. And let me not forget that she said she emailed me saying they were ready back in January but I never even gave her my email.

Unable to work out insurance issues so I canceled my appointment. First they told me they could not find me in the system, then they told me that with insurance my part of the bill would be $130 and without insurance it would be $139, so what is the point of insurance. With United Health Care my co-pay is supposed to be $10. Tried to cancel my appointment and was put on hold for 15 minutes and finally hung up. Tried to call back and after a long meandering message they told me to leave a message and the box is full. Used to be a good place, seems to have lost their way...need to get their act together.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The Optometric assistant and Dr. Hendrix are great at their job. My son and I enjoyed our exam time with them. The receptionist is very helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Risk Optometric Associates for your eye care needs.

2 months wait for an appointment and suddenly they said that the insurance information was never processed. Then expressed discomfort to submit the insurance information again saying that would take 30 minutes. When asked why they never contacted the patient to inform that, their reply was " You should know if your plan would cover you or not". Awful service and complete disregard for the patient's needs. And charged 25.00 for not proceeding with the appointment. September 2024.

Just called the office to get a copy of my prescription which is needed to be seen by another provider now that I am having a SEVERE eye issue. Since the business no longer accepts my insurance, they canceled my appointment a few years ago on the same day which was no problem. She texted me stating that once I pay a balance then I can pick up my prescription. I've only been there once which was for a routine appt under my federal insurance. She says I have a no-show fee which is inaccurate. During this text dialogue, she became aggressive which prompted me to call the office and the disbelief I experience shook me so bad....she stated, " you either pay the no-show fee or you don't" and hung up on me. WOWW!!!! So of course she never picked the phone up again or answered texted messages. The phones are not being answered due to staff shortage and I'm pretty sure the reason no one wants to work there is because of the receptionist!!! She is rude and and unprofessional to say the least. Initially my call to speak with someone was unsuccessful and was instructed to use text or if in case of an emergency call another number. which I did. After the lack of concern from this receptionist,..... I called the emergency line since she decided not to answer my calls anymore (caller id) and SPOKE with Dr. Risk who was on vacation out of the country and informed him of her behavior. He was passionate about what I experienced and gave me other options to receive my prescription. I truly hope that he addresses this matter on how to conduct professionalism and customer service as it pertains to his business. This woman needs to be fired and/or reprimanded for the poor customer service she presented. This will go on Yelp as well which can not be deleted. Unbelievable how the conversation thread between me and the receptionist just mind-blowing. Once that interaction happened, I was not able to focus from the way she spoke to me without concern or regards. It is apparent that this behavior has been going on for awhile. GET RID OF HER.

Terrible customer service. Made an appointment still had to wait. Receptionist takes your insurance information. Doesn't listen or take information that she needs to know. My insurance wasn't filed correctly. I called them and still the insurance wasn't filed correctly...my appointment was in November 2020 ...I'm still dealing with the same problem. UNBELIEVABLE!

The service for my mother was excellent, however they insisted on getting payment before seeing her. She's been here for years and has Medicare & Medicaid. I had to get of m job early to take care of the financial situation and after all was said and done we was refunded $92.61 two months later out of the $100.00 payment we felt pressured to pay that day. They need to keep in mind that some of the elderly are on fixed income or might not comprehend these policies. My mom is lucky to have children who care and could afford it.

My appointment began 45 minutes late. One of the salespeople brought me a bottle of water while I waited, and I thought the gesture was kind, though I was still disappointed by the wait. The staff was kind but a bit disorganized; two of my tests had to be repeated because of a staff error. I really enjoyed conversing with Dr. Hendrix, who was very thorough in her explanation of details. The price for my contact lens exam was much higher than I'd anticipated ($169), so at that price I could have gone to a number of other locations rather than choosing this location to save money. I am not yet certain whether I will schedule another appointment here.
