Laser Defined Vision

I had my eye surgery 25+ years ago with Dr. Stonecipher, and the whole experience was exceptional! I would not trust any other doctor to operate on my eyes. I just recently had a PKR operation with him, and the outcome was very satisfactory. The staff prepared me emotionally for both events before, during, and after the procedure, so I was comfortable going through the process. Both of those procedures lasted between 1 and 5 minutes. I was very relaxed; I did not feel either pain or any anxiety. All the staff are very friendly and professional, especially Brandi, who was exceptionally helpful. Dr. Stonecipher and the team at Laser Defined are incredible! Everything from start to finish was a good experience. I recommend LASIK and Laser Defined for all eye care needs.

I'd been considering LASIK for some time, and finally made the decision to have it done and had an evaluation in December 2022, and the procedure scheduled and performed in early February 2023. The initial recovery is amazingly fast after sleeping off the medication and giving your eyes time to begin healing from the procedure, and I was able to drive the next day. If you have trouble falling asleep, I'd definitely recommend talking with your PCP about getting Ambien ahead of the procedure to take afterward, as the numbing drops wore off rather quickly in my case before my driver and I could get the prescription filled at Walgreens in Greensboro. I don't think that this was any issue related to LDV or their procedures, just it's something to consider if numbing drops/medication/etc...wear off quickly for you and the Xanax provided doesn't knock you out for your ride back home or to your hotel. Night time driving was something I expected to be difficult and was aware that headlights/bright lights would have a starburst/rainbow glare effect that gradually faded away over the next 2-3 weeks post-op. Just keep up with your post-op care (applying drops as indicated, and liberal use of rewetting drops). Now, waking up and not having to put in contacts/find glasses is a wonderful thing and every day is just better for being able to see everything with greater clarity than I ever achieved with glasses. Dr. Stonecipher and his staff were excellent and reassuring through the entire process, and if I had to choose again, I'd definitely have LASIK done with them.

A week ago I couldn't see what was in front of my face and now I see better than the day I was born. Dr. Stonecipher is a miracle worker and the rest of his team are nicer than angels and Disney employees. Best money I ever spent! Could not thank them enough :)
