Oman Eye Care

I love going to Oman Eye Care. The staff is very friendly, the office is very clean and up to date. They have the latest technology. Dr. Joel Woods is great.

Two friends of mine suggested Oman Eye Care over in Greensboro when they heard of my vision problems. The local doctor I had been using in Reidsville had a minimum wait of 6 months to be seen here, so I took their recommendation , and am glad I did. Dr's Oman and Woods have a great staff, using the latest optics machinery and found two problems with my eyes. Both were greatly affecting my vision. They sent me to get these addressed, which I did, then finished their eye exam after I healed from the procedures to correct my problems. I am totally pleased with the results. I no longer have double vision and am seeing much clearer than I have in years. I could not have got to this point had they had not first of all - found the problems and had great eye specialist close by that they could send me to that could easily correct them. Job we'll done. I will continue using them for future exams

Went to a scheduled appointment. It was good. Called a few weeks later to talk about getting glasses and getting my prescription. Called 3 days in a row and was put on hold and told I was first in line. After 10min I was put into a General Voicemail. After Trying 9 times in one day from 11 till 5pm I left a message. Second day no call by 1pm so tried a few more times again put on hold and told I was first inline. waited ten minutes voicemail again. Went through this 5 more times of the rest of the day. Third day no call back tried 5 more times. Same issue. Walked into the office while on hold and the 2 people behind the desk were not on the phone and I was still on hold. There was no patience in the waiting room there was no patience in the Glasses area. I understand being busy but on the third day no one is still answering. 20 calls one voicemail and 3 days and no one answers or returns. I am moving on to someone who wants my business.

This place has a very large selection of children's and teen glasses. However their display for them is horrible. They just have all their frames thrown in a tote case. They are all on top of each other. I have ordered from them 2 years now and they are horrible with returning phone calls and informing you when the glasses are ready. It takes 3-4 weeks literally for the glasses to come in. The staff that always assist me and my son are wonderful though when visiting in person.

I had been going to Omen Eye care for years and it HAD been good. The doctor I saw has retired and the place has changed. The doctor I saw was not as thorough and I felt he was in a hurry. I had to go back 3 times to get the eye glass prescription corrected to where I could see both near and far. 3 Times! When I first went back he had all kinds of excuses rather then just say he was sorry. He must not have looked at the prescription I had when I came in originally as he did not give me the same reading strength and made it less strong. So then I could see better at distance on the second try, but then could not read well! So back a THIRD time. I was thankful that Costco caught the problem with the 2nd prescription because when I called Omen they claimed to not have those records from 2 years ago!!! Thankful Costco had them as well as I had the originals at home! There is no excuse for them not making the prescription right the second time other than they did not care! I'm NOT going back to Omen Eye Care--they do NOT care!

Dr. Oman is the best! Great experience from eye exam to having great help choosing new frames and lenses. Would give 10 stars if I could!!

Terrible service and outcome. Very rushed exam. Had the glasses made by their company. The prescription was way off. Re-examined. The prescription even further off. They remade the glasses, even further off. Four trips. About $300 and nothing useful. I mailed the glasses back to them. No reply. Avoid at all costs. Terrible service, and quality. Why is it doctors think there time is so much more valuable than the patient's time? It is not.

I RARELY leave reviews, but I hope I can spare someone the misery of being "assisted " by Kayla in the optometry shop. If I could give her a zero, I would. I just returned home from picking up my new glasses, the first pair I have ever ordered from Oman Optics. I am thoroughly disgusted and angry by the lack of service, lack of caring, and just pure laziness that Kayla exhibited. I was required to make an appointment to pick up my glasses and when I arrived, no other customers were in the store. Kayla asked what I needed and then she brought out my new glasses and told me to go to the register. She handed me the glasses and said I could try them on right there at the register. I was expecting an EYEGLASS FITTING APPOINTMENT, just as I have received with new glasses at other optical stores. I put the glasses on and tried looking into the small mirror at the counter. She watched me impatiently and it was obvious she wanted me to just take them and leave. She offered no assistance for adjustments. Why did she call me to make the appointment if everyone has a cookie cutter face shape and size - and eyeglasses fit perfectly right off the shelf????? When I tried to show her that one of the nose pieces wasn't touching my nose, she rudely said "No, I can't see it, but I'm sure you can." She didn't even try to look. She took the glasses from me and used her fingers to randomly bend the nose piece. In every other eyeglass fitting I have had, the technician used SPECIALTY TOOLS, the make adjustments in the glasses. After all, I did just pay almost $650 for the new glasses and I don't need her to make adjustments with her fingers. I can do that at home... and it looks like I might have to because they do not fit right. One side is higher than the other and they are too close to my face. It's also interesting that she put an instruction sheet in my bag that says "DO NOT ADJUST YOUR OWN GLASSES, WE HAVE THE CORRECT TOOLS TO PROPERLY AND SAFELY REPAIR AND ADJUST YOUR GLASSES." Really???? This lazy person could not have cared any less about me, my glasses, or the company she works for. I certainly would not want her to represent my company. My sister originally recommended Oman to me and my initial consultation was with Alberto. He did a phenomenal job of helping me with selecting new frames, measuring, and ordering. He took his time and was very professional, personable, and thorough. I left there feeling like I had just found the BEST optic store and I would shop there for years to come. Today, I left there with a very bitter taste in my mouth. I may - or may not - return to Oman for future purchases (I had wanted to get a second pair of glasses as soon as possible - already picked them out- and also some prescription sunglasses). If I do return to Oman, I will refuse to be "assisted " by Kayla and I will only work with Alberto or someone else. You have been warned: if you want someone who doesn't care about you, just ask for Kayla.
