Dr Bevis seemed fine and all medical staff seemed good but the front office and scheduling seemed really incompetent and like questions I asked were really annoying them. They lost my paperwork and as i stood there they got caught up in personal conversations and I cooled my heels waiting for them to figure out what to do next. I ended up deciding to go elsewhere. As a friend pointed out, it is the front office staff you deal with 95% of the time and t was really put off with their lack of competence/caring/desire to be helpful. It's a shame because the rest of the folks were good. I went elsewhere and am quite happy that I did!

This comment only applies to the office side, specifically the check out side where you set your appointments. The person sitting there has some sort of unchecked rudeness. Makes the whole hard work of Dr Bevis and his professional team look bad.

This is not a comment on the medical aspect of my care, which I do not yet feel able to evaluate. But when I arrived I was asked to review a basic information form to make sure it was correct. It included an hostile and upsetting (also possibly misogynist and ageist) note about my personality (based on some anxieties I had about possible surgery and recovery issues as a single person) relayed from the referring optometrist's office. Even apart from my feelings about this comment existing and likely biasing the new office against me before I even saw anyone, having it recorded in a place where I could see it was grossly unprofessional, and makes the human standard of care very questionable here.

Poor follow up and communication. I had an initial appointment here last March, wherein they recommended my followup care be peformed next door. My experience there was so poor I didnt wind up having a followup visit. As that was a separate office, I decided to give this place another try. I've been trying to get an appointment for 2 months now-no one bothered to return my initial call, when I called again they stated they would need a new referral. This already makes zero sense to me, but now they keep not "receiving" the referral. I've called multiple times, for saying they would take a phone referral they somehow still can't talk to my regular eye doctor. No one cares each time I bring up my frustration that I can't even get an appointment scheduled after all this time. If they want updated records, they can request them since their referral system clearly doesn't work.

I had cataract surgery in September of 2023. I was really nervous about having it done because i only have vision in one eye. Dr Bevis and his staff did an excellent job of making sure I understood the whole process. And Dr Bevis was so helpful in making sure I made the right lens choice. My vision is even better than what I was hoping for. I highly recommend him! A big THANK YOU to him and his amazing staff!!

I first met Dr. Stonecipher in June 2020 when my sister had both her eye surgeries, now being a new patient myself going in their office for the first time I was very impressed by all the friendly staff from everyone at the front counter and everyone I seen or talked with throughout the entirety of my appointment. They're all very pleasant, courteous and caring, made me feel comfortable and more at ease, thank you all. I highly recommend Piedmont Eye Surgical & Laser Center.
