Dr Yoakum is the 1st eye doctor that I've been to that cares about the eyes of his patients. he's teaches u a quick science lesson about your eyes and wow I really appreciated that. I will definitely return in a year!

This was my second annual eye exam here and as someone who has been going to the Eye Doctor for 30 years, I think I'm a good judge of good service and knowing an educated/experienced doctor. Everyone working there is friendly and helpful. The doctor was informative. The whole experience was good both last year and this year.

I had a good experience with Dr. Yoakum. He worked with me even though I did not bring medical records from previous provider. My issue is with the individual that checked me out. I was informed that my insurance wouldn't cover frames until October. She then let me know that there were having a 50% off sale as she handed my paperwork. She didnt offer to let me look at any frames or give me pricing. It was as though she was ready for me to leave. Which I did. I'll just be going back to the previous provider.

This eye care place is ridiculous and unprofessional. I had to call someone to literally hear what was going on as these people doesn't like to answer the phone and have you call other people to figure out what's wrong with the glasses even though it's THEIR responsibility not mines. I came to their place on June 3 to get an eye exam and glasses. I got my glasses ordered and waited for six months now. They claim its Medicaid issue, but when I call the other call center she said I was never there on her end making me shocked. This is insane and seeing other people dealing with this you guys are about to get sued soon. You guys don't like answering calls and having lack of communication is worse, so be prepared when you all have to walk into court because no one there wants to do their job properly. Edit 1: Also when I first came to my appointment that dr that I had was terrible. He made me feel like I was an idiot and no doctor should be treating their patients like they're a waste of time. You choose this profession and you're contributing to making actual doctors look bad. He needs to fix his attitude and tone before someone do something to him. You should always follow the golden rule and it's sad for his BIG AGE that he doesn't do that. If you didn't want to be a eye doctor or even got tired of it then you shouldn't became one at all.

Was looking for a new eye dr close to work however I was truly disappointed with my visit here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. However the Dr not so much. I was made to feel dumb and treated like I was a child. Even when there was no way he could not tell I was very confused he continued to act like it was my fault that I didn't understand. I have never had my vision checked where I was told to sit in from of a computer with my glasses on and asked does this look better. It has always been with the machine and asked to read to little card when the machine was adjusted . That did not happen. Was my new glasses correct , yes they are fine. But the whole point was after 2 years on missing my eye exams and being a daily glasses wearer I was not made to feel comfortable or confident in a new doctor. When I tried to ask questions I felt very dismissed. Needless to say I will not return to this location. Will I give the company another chance sure , but not this Dr.

The staff was welcoming and friendly. The Dr. answered any questions I may have had and explained what he was doing or why it needed to be done.

I should preface this with I have been coming to this clinic as long as I have had eyes and have needed eye care. My prescription isn't bad, but I suffer from eye strain with fatigue, and I also happen to be a Healthcare provider. I loved Dr. Atkins. I grew up with him and he knew me through undergrad and my medical degree and loved to talk to me about our shared experiences and weird cases. I'm frustrated because my experience with Dr. Yokum is very confusing. He clearly does not place a priority on preventative care. My last two annual appointments with him has been basically a lecture that he didn't know why I was seeing an optometrist and I should call him back after I was 40 and my prescription might change. Is he really so uninterested in preventative care?

Love Dr. Yoakum and his staff. They were so welcoming and made our visit genuinely enjoyable. Grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and the extra time they took to make sure we felt taken care of.
