Dr Garson is great to work with, excellent at explaining and talking through, always personable. It's unfortunate that he's held back by front staff that do not want to interact with patients. After my recent visit that they rescheduled twice, then had me sit in the back room for well over an hour with no updates. My entire actual checkup was literally 2 minutes. My doctor wanted me to schedule a follow up in a few months. The front desk argued and told me I'm not supposed to have an appointment. Then I asked what time I should schedule to not have hours of waiting. The woman's response was that there is no good time, not even the first appointment. I asked to speak to their manager who happened to be seated next to her and apparently heard nothing. She was rude and condescending. Her solution was to offer me to go back and sit with my doctor for more face time - the hours of delay weren't an issue to her. I told her I will leave and call back yo schedule. She rudely demanded I stay because she has more authority than the call center and she can actually help more. I asked her what she can do, no answer. Tried to leave again because I wanted to remove myself from the hostile manager, but she demanded me back again. Finally I literally walked out saying nothing because I knew she was trying to escalate this situation. If you have tons of free time and can avoid the front staff then the doctors make this location worthwhile.

Dr Garson and his staff are outstanding! I got super glue in my eye and was seen the next day. Although painful to remove, he and his assistant were so patient and kind. I'm anticipating a full recovery. Thank you so much to everyone!

The lady who works with Dr. Go and put the eye drops in my daughters eyes today (for her eyes to dilate) thought it was funny and was laughing when my daughter fell on her face getting out of the exam chair. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional to say the least.

I came to Duke Eye Center seeking answers and relief for persistent eye discomfort. Instead of investigating the cause through imaging or offering a referral, I was given a pep talk about how "everyone has asymmetries" and was encouraged to simply accept mine. If I wanted therapy, I wouldn't have taken a full day off work, driven three hours, and paid for a hotel. They briefly ruled out ptosis, dismissed my concerns, and offered no direction... just vague pity and no actionable next steps. Despite how invalidating the experience felt, their notes describe themselves as "empathetic and validating." I left feeling judged, not believed, and no closer to a solution.

Laura works on Dr. Hunter's staff. She is a consummate professional. Usually, late on a Friday afternoon, people are in a rush to get home and start the weekend. However, as she updated me about an upcoming appointment, she was delightful, caring, informative, and an absolute breath of fresh air!!!

Dr. Ferreira was absolutely wonderful with my toddler! She was kind, patient, and made it "fun" for her. She also took the time to listen to my concerns and explain things thoroughly to me. I will be switching my other child's care to her!

Dr. Elizabeth Mathenge is exceptionally skilled, professional, and personable. She did a fantastic job with a delicate lesion removal on my eyelid. The staff are friendly and efficient. I will continue getting my eye care at the Holly Springs campus! Thank you!

Excellent care and the whole experience. We got in 5 minutes BEFORE our appointment, and Kristen (tech) was super helpful and friendly. Very efficient and thorough, but she makes you feel so at-ease and comfortable. Dr. Ami also was friendly, prompt, and seemed very competent! Highly recommended!
