I had a really good eye exam with doctor Haines. He spent time to explain a lot that others eyes doctor's I've seen in the past neglected to tell me. Now as far as his staff goes that is entirely different story. Three weeks ago I went and seen these guys to get a new pair of eye glasses. The lady handling the order of my new glasses said they would be ready in two weeks. Two weeks came with no call so I called them to check on the status. I was told then that there was a problem with the insurance. Ok no problem but why was I not informed of this hold up. I didn't get a satisfactory answer that's for sure. Well I called to day to check on the status witch is week three now. I am told that the insurance issue was resolved and my new glasses were ordered yesterday and should be in about another two weeks. I have yet received a courtesy call on this either. But yet I have to wait another two weeks for eye glasses I paid out of my pocket. Staff here needs a class on customer service. This really could have all been resolved with a simple phone call. I received a phone call this morning from a real sweet lady from Dr. Haines office. She explained to me exactly what had happened with my situation, causing my first posted review. She explained in detail about the issue at hand with honesty and integrity. She apologized for the communication error. This was a very positive and satisfactory photo call this morning. For this I am changing from a to review.
I got my eye exam done quickly, was seen quickly staff was very nice so was dr Haines ! We even had pretty lengthy chat !! I would definitely recommend ! Ohhhh and ALISONNN was top tier !! She literally walked down each section picking up a couple pairs of glasses in each to help accommodate with What i like and told me what she thought about them when I tried them on and staff also chimed in and it she also kept and eye on the pricing of them helping me stay in budget it went very well! I will be making this my home for eye care
Do not go here! My first interaction with this doctor was terrible. No BESIDE MANNERS! But I gave him a 2nd chance because we all have bad days. Now today, I was quoted a completely different price then what I was told 2 weeks ago. Over a 100 dollars difference! Staff unfriendly and can careless. My last time dealing with the good old joco doctors!
Don't go to him. Especially if you're on Medicaid. I had to go on Medicaid this year due to unforeseen circumstances, and I have never been treated with so little care. If he spent 5 minutes on my exam, I'd be surprised. He was supposed to dilate my eyes... didn't happen. My previous optometrist spent so much time with me to make sure he had my prescription right. This guy basically took a wild ass guess. The whole visit was a waste of time. The glasses he prescribed are in the trash. Absolutely no help whatsoever. No bedside manner. Just a terrible optometrist in general. My guess is you get better care if you have better insurance. Well, I'm purchasing a VSP policy next year and going back to my old optometrist. He'll never see me again. If he cares this little about his patients, he should probably retire.
I am deeply disappointed by the way this vision company treated two women with disabilities during their visit. Instead of showing compassion, understanding, and professionalism, the staff displayed discriminatory behavior that made these ladies feel unwelcome and devalued.
A vision care provider should understand the importance of accessibility, empathy, and respect especially when serving individuals with disabilities. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. The lack of sensitivity and inclusion shown by this business reflects a serious failure in ethics, training, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please ask the people the right questions before just sending them next door to mental health in the pouring rain.
No one seeking medical or vision care should ever be judged, ignored, or treated unfairly because of their disability. I hope this company & Dr. Haines take immediate action to train hisself & staff on disability awareness, implement stronger anti-discrimination policies, and make sure that no other patient has to experience this type of mistreatment. Dr. Haines also needs to learn not to threaten people "if you don't take the review they can't be seen here." I really thank God he isn't the only optometrist in this area. They got an appointment as soon as we left.
I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone who values dignity, compassion, and equality.
When I call to get my young daughter's prescription in order to get an emergency pair of glasses (she broke her only pair) they refused to provide the prescription because it was expired by less than a month. Since they cannot provide emergency glasses in this office, I need the prescription to take to another business and get her a pair. Last I checked, glasses are not medication. There is no medical risk with an expired glasses prescription by less than a month, only missed monetary opportunity. My daughter needs glasses to see, but that's clearly not a concern for this office. I have been a patient at this office for most of my life and they are unwilling to help my child; I will never recommend this office or be back again.
Staff is amazing! One of the most customer friendly atmospheres I have been in. This day and time a rarity. Dr. Haines is a very caring Dr. I truly appreciate his personal concern for my eye health. You can tell he genuinely has a deep concern for his patients. Its so evident he is representing Christ well. Great job Doc and Staff.
God Bless,
Billy Whitley
I'm extremely thankful Dr. Haines was able to come in on his day off when I had what I thought was emergency situation with my eye. Thankfully it turned out not to be an emergency, but I so appreciate Dr. Haines being able to check it out for me.
