I had an excellent experience with Dr. Swaim and the entire staff. From the moment I walked in, everyone was friendly, patient, and professional. The doctor took time to explain everything clearly and made sure all my questions were answered. I never felt rushed, and the care I received was outstanding. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for thorough, compassionate eye care.

We've been seeing Dr Swaim for many, many years, and enjoy our visits with him. Some staff could use a bit of customer service training. I recently had more disappointing experiences with staff knowledge and care. Overall, though, we will remain patients of this location.

I would not recommend Wake Forest Eye Care Center. We took our son for an eye exam in November 2025. The eye doctor was very nice, and based on that experience we purchased three pairs of prescription glasses: an everyday pair, sports goggles, and prescription sunglasses. We were told the turnaround time would be 7-10 business days. Weeks later, we were notified the glasses were ready and went in for pickup and fitting. At that visit, the sunglasses were not there at all, and the sports goggles didn't fit. We were told the wrong size had been ordered. We agreed to reorder the goggles and were told we'd be contacted once both the goggles and sunglasses were ready. Weeks passed with no communication. I called multiple times and left messages without receiving a callback. Eventually, we got a text saying everything was ready. Given the earlier issues, I called to confirm and was told the sunglasses still weren't ready -- only the sports goggles. Despite previously being told the wrong size was ordered, we were now told the goggles only come in one size and that they could make them fit. We waited again for the sunglasses, then returned to pick everything up. They adjusted the goggles and sent us on our way. A few days later, my son wore the sports goggles to a soccer game and complained he couldn't see well. That's when we discovered the lenses installed were not prescription. I called back and spoke with the manager, Claude, and asked for a refund so we could move on. He asked for one more chance, which I agreed to, and said they would order a new pair. Once again, weeks passed. I then received a message saying the lenses were in. When I called to confirm whether it was just lenses or a full set of goggles, the receptionist said she couldn't find them and that someone would call me back. When I asked about a refund instead, her tone became very rude. This has been a long, frustrating experience marked by repeated mistakes, poor communication, and a lack of accountability. There are clearly issues with their ordering and fulfillment process. If you do go here, I strongly recommend getting the prescription from the doctor and filling your glasses order somewhere else. I'm still hoping for a final resolution so my son can have his sports goggles and we can be done dealing with this place -- but at this point, I would not trust them again.

Over the past 5 years, I have purchased both glasses and contacts that I've been happy with. When I did have a problem with the lens in my last pair of glasses looking yellow, they took care of it without any problem. They were also very kind and made time to check my eye within an hour of me calling when I thought I had a contact stuck in my eye.

Dr. Boyd is very personable, and gives quality attention to the issues, explaining them well where needed. Kiya was very nice and competent, and listened to my concerns. All in all it was a very good experience. I'm glad we came to Dr. Boyd.

My whole family goes to Wake Forest Eye Care Center. Everyone is so friendly and professional. I took my 3 yr old there yesterday. Dr. Boyd was fantastic with her. I would recommend WFECC to anyone and everyone. Keep up the great work!!

I love the Eye Care Center. The person who checked me in was very courteous and efficient. They had my old insurance but easily transitioned to my new insurance. The tech person (Jennifer) who took pictures of my eyes and tested for glaucoma, was also a great. Lastly, I met with Dr. Shepherd, who was an absolute delight. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I would highly recommend the Eye Care Center.

Our eye doctor recently moved to this attractive and well appointed facility staffed with friendly, competent folks who made our first visit very nice. Recommend Wake Forest Eye Care Center as well as Dr Boyd for your eye care needs.
