The Retina Group

The Retina Group has been helping me with my diabetic macular edema for years now. Most recently, one of their employees, Cheryl Parker, was able to help me in a very monumental way. My insurance had recently denied me a medication I desperately needed. Cheryl as able to get the insurance company to help me with a better medication called Eylea, as well as co-pay assistance. She really hit it out of the park. Thank you Cheryl for working so hard to help me. And also, Dr. Akhter, for helping me keep my eyesight. I've been to other doctors in the area for the same treatment (three other doctors) and she is so far the best. If you need help with your macular edema, I recommend the Retina Group.

everyone is very courteous but every time I come here its 1.5 to 2 hours before you get to see the doctor. . expect waiting , waiting and more waiting.

All levels of staff were receptive/welcoming. The process to evaluate, diagnose and treat my eye issue was timely and effective. Follow up was coordinated to be thorough and convenient . Dr. Akhtar was professional in the office and surgery suite.

Went to see Dr Pate and his bedside manner was awful. I have narrow angle I was Rd by.my Opthomologist. He never explained whether I had open angle or closed angle. I went to see a specialist in Glaucoma which I do not have and this doctor Lisa Chung who wanted to do a test that the machine touches the eye and I could not do the test. No other options give to me and was flaked off by that doctor. Went back to Patel who laughed about.my situation and told me to find someone else Dr like Patel want to do iridtomy o patients that are not at risk for closures. I do not have high pressure in my eyes. NO glaucoma and yet he wanted to rush me to a procedure with little explanation Terrible doctor with bad bedside manner. Watch out with.him. I don't trust him at all

Dr Patel has a good reputation and I am happy with the results of my surgery, but his bedside manners leave something to be desired and all three times I've been here, I have had to wait a LONG time to be seen (45 mins to over an hour)! Don't schedule an appointment for 8:00 if you aren't going to see me until 9:15. If I have issues with my eyes again, I will go to a different practice.

My Doctor could not speak English and none of my questions including whether my retinal displacement had improved. I am going to have to request and hopefully my optometrist can help answer some of my questions

Optometrist said no way to fix floaters and cloudy eyes. Retina group said no problem and just sucked them out, no problem.

Dr. Hunt is amazing. Highly recommend for any retina issues.
